During a State visit to the White House, British Prime Minister Kier Starmer encountered a fired up Vice President JD Vance who directly called out Starmer’s crackdown on free speech in the UK.
“There have been infringements on free speech that actually impact not just the British… but also impact American technology companies and by extension American citizens,” Vance told Starmer and the reporters in the room. “So that is something that we’ll talk about today at lunch.”
Starmer, clearly irked by the comments responded, “We’ve had free speech for a very very long time in the United Kingdom and it will last for a very very long time,” adding that he is “proud” of his stance on free speech.
Tell that to the millions of people he labelled as “far right” merely for expressing opinions he dislikes, or those that have been arrested and imprisoned for posting their opinions on Facebook or merely sharing memes.
Exactly

The head of UK police even threatened Americans, saying “we’ll come after you” should they decide to share their wrongthink opinions on UK events.
PM Starmer says UK values freedom of speech, tell that to the UK citizens that have been arrested in the UK for posts that goes against their governments Agenda pic.twitter.com/G0R09FuBik

This came to a head last year when people took to the streets after the horrific murder of three little girls by a second generation Rwandan migrant.
Police began barging into people’s homes and arresting them for online posts.
People saying the ‘wrong’ thing were handed lengthy prison sentences.
The government even started releasing actual violent criminals to make space for thought criminals.
It wasn’t only Joe public, reporters were targeted for having non approved opinions.
Starmer’s leftist government in the UK also announced it will change the school curriculum in order to teach children what “extremist content and misinformation online” looks like, in order to “arm them against putrid conspiracy theories.”
They also went after people silently praying outside abortion clinics.
You can’t think the wrong thing in your own head.
Brits have complete free speech, unless they say something the government doesn’t want them to say.

In a later appearance on Fox News Thursday, Starmer continued to claim that he “champions” free speech.

“We don't believe in censoring speech…we champion free speech in the United Kingdom." pic.twitter.com/UYOs3ERVjw
The gall of this guy.
That's literally the most incorrect and untrue statement he could have possibly made! They're arresting people for memes, and not only arresting them, but convicting them without a trial! Their entire justice system has been lifted from a Franz Kafka novel!
— Truth Volcano (@Truth_Volcano) February 27, 2025
What a joke, I have friends who are in the UK and they literally refuse to use anything other than signal or encrypted chats to communicate online because they are terrified of being arrested for posting.
— Walter Curt (@WCdispatch_) February 28, 2025
There is NO free speech in the UK, and there hasn't been in years.
PM Starmer:
— Ellie A (@EllieGAnders) February 28, 2025
Can you explain why some of your people are sitting in jail for their speech? Because that's not free speech.
Vance was spot on calling Starmer out, and he and Trump should relentlessly keep shaming any so called leaders who display such brazen contempt for freedom of expression.
Tyranny is tyranny, even if it comes from an ally.

Go JD!
Starmer is here to bend the knee, he wasn't going to go against Vance. It is easy for world leaders to talk tough about the U.S. and Trump, but at the end of their rants, they always comply.

JD vance is just as savage as trump, albeit in a more measured way

I love that he's standing up to tyrants. Incredible.

“During a State visit to the White House, British Prime Minister Kier Starmer encountered a fired up Vice President JD Vance who directly called out Starmer’s crackdown on free speech in the UK.”
Yeah, because JD Vance is so ultra-nationalist that he loves, absolutely loves, American tech companies having tentacles all over the world and telling off people for not following to the letter his designs on world domination. In short, JD Vance is a globalist with the thinnest clothing of a nationalist. I mean, any true American nationalist would not be seen dead next to the guy who deliberately had rallies in the middle of a deadly pandemic, that actually killed some of the attendants that supported him. JD Vance loves his fellow Americans so much that he couldn’t care less if they get killed in front of his eyes. You want to know who are those globalists? The people in the White House.
Keir Starmer is the true nationalist that told JD Vance to his face that HIS freedom of speech is not the BRITISH freedom of speech. There ain’t such thing as a GLOBAL freedom of speech. Each country has their own ideas of what is appropriate for their society. In Britain, some things are just not cricket. Or shall I start complaining to the Americans that I am not free to truly and really believe that their government is about to fall to pieces within the next four years, and I don’t mean losing an election, but something far more fundamental? Because let me tell you, THEIR tech companies seem to have an issue with me expressing that belief.
..vance should’ve just pulled off the kid-gloves and called ol’ starmtrupper a goshdammed liar, because he is. his penal system proves it..
The UK is simply trying to normalize it’s censorship as if the system and enforcement now is actually “free speech”. This is high level social engineering in later stages there. It’s also part of the bigger punishment for the UK embarrassing the EU by exercising their right to exit the yoke of slavery that the EU imposes on all it’s satellites under it umbrella when they left the EU. Older people can see what’s going on, younger people and immigrants are born into a system that they have no experience of which they can compare the better way of life just 10 or 20 years prior… This is what they are counting on by erasing the past, short memories and stating nonsense like this Keir’s guy just did here.
Praying that he gets right with Lord on his own before his constituents do it for him
Wow…a Modernity with no comments!
Everyone in UK and the USA is afraid to say Starmer is a communist piece of scum.
Come and get me with your storm trooper bobbies. I’m waiting in the US desert!
Just follow the Trump / Vance signs.
Starmer is a communist piece of scum. Not just him, but all of his ministers too. Come to think of it, many of his local councillors are violent criminals too: Mike Amesbury (convicted, but no jail) and Ricky Jones (awaiting trial, but will probably get away lightly).
I hope you’ll write to me in prison. I’ll probably get 2 years for “hate speech” for that. Should probably start a gofundme for my legal costs.
There is no freedom of speech in the UK. The bare faced lies told by Starmer in the White House were sickening. When the police knock your door because you express your belief that your local councillor is incompetent and should resign. When you can go to prison for shouting at a police dog. When you can go to prison for Facebook posts. When you can be arrested for saying that you don’t like the uncontrolled immigration and £billions spent on illegals. When you can go to prison for expressing your disgust that a terrorist murders 3 children and tries to kill several others – while the government tries to cover it up. Then tell me there is free speech in the UK. Not anymore there isn’t. Same in Germany and many other European countries.
