Banners link to any web url of your choice and rotate between multiple advertisers on an equally weighted basis without the page being refreshed. After you send us your banner, corners will be rounded by us where possible to match our website theme. You can request reports on the number of impressions and clicks your ad receives, or general reports on the amount of visitors to Modernity.news. We are able to cloak your url if requested so it is not visible in the footer of the browser when the banner is hovered over, should you require this feature. Video ads are also an option. All ads will appear on both Desktop and mobile, unless otherwise stated below.

Here are the options for advertising on Modernity.news

Header banners
See the top of the page for live examples. There are two placement options, on the homepage only, or on the homepage + all posts, archives pages, and search results.There are two size options, Billboard or Leaderboard:

Video ad
Your standalone video (Mp4 format) will appear within the content, sized to fit the post, within the top half of the article. Sound will be muted on loading. The video will only start playing when the visitor scrolls it into view. Videos should be shorter than 30 seconds to maximise impact. Clicking the video will send the user to your landing page url. Will be preceded by the label ‘Advertising’.

ADVERTISING

Pre roll featured video ad
Only one advertising slot at a time can be allocated on these placements.
Video short (around 15-30 seconds in MP4 format) provided by the advertiser that will play before all featured videos embedded in posts published on our website during the agreed advertising period. The featured videos are the commentary videos produced by Paul Joseph Watson. Please note that the pre roll video will only appear on Modernity.news. It will not appear on YouTube. When clicked on anywhere, the pre roll video will link to your url. Your clickable url or advertiser name will also appear in the top left corner of the video. Viewers are able to skip the ad after 10 seconds should they choose to. The pre roll will also appear on all past featured video posts with pre roll ads present dating back to the implementation of this ad system (Mid 2024).

PJW sponsored video ad
The advertiser is the sponsor of the featured video, embedded on Modernity.news and hosted on YouTube, and will be presented as such during a short segment of the video by Paul Joseph Watson. A link to your url will also be posted in the YouTube description of the video.

Featured Post
A featured post displayed on the homepage to look like a news article. It will be labelled ‘SPONSORED CONTENT’ with a headline of your choosing. When users click, it opens a new post with as much information and as many images, videos and links as you like. The post may have a featured YouTube video (sound muted), or a static image in the preview on the home page, and/or in the post header. The post will always stay within the top section on the homepage for the duration of the advertising period and will not move further down as new content is added. On mobile, the ad will appear in the same fashion among the top few posts.

Appears within the text of all posts. The ads will repeat after a set amount of paragraphs, depending on the post length. The ads will be preceded by the label ‘ADVERTISING’.

Ad 1 – On desktop, displayed in the right hand side bar of every post between ‘Featured Videos’ and ‘Featured Posts’. On mobile displayed between the same sections, after the comments section.

Ad 2 – On desktop, displayed in the right hand side bar of every post between ‘Most Viral’ and ‘Lets Get Social’. On mobile displayed between the same sections, after the comments section.

Ad 3 – On desktop, displayed in the right hand side bar of every post after ‘Subscribe to our Newsletter’. The ad remains present on the screen in ‘sticky’ mode as the user scrolls down. On mobile displayed between the ‘Subscribe to our Newsletter’ and ‘Read Next’ sections, after the comments section.

Remains on screen at the foot of the page no matter where the visitor scrolls. Please note, the visitor is able to cross off the ad after it appears should they choose to.

Pop ups will appear on posts and fill the entire screen of a mobile device. Visitors can either click on the ad or close it using the close button and continue navigating. Therefore, they cannot ignore the ad. Pop ups will not repeatedly appear as excessive use of this ad format can negatively impact the user experience. They will be subject to frequency capping, but rest assured every visitor will see the pop up when browsing.

Bundles
Everything bundle – Includes all the above except video ads and featured post. Header and a footer will appear on the homepage and all other pages and posts. Choose your header size. Side bar ad will appear in all sidebars.
