Somali Terrorist In London Previously Stabbed Police Officers, Was A Known Extremist

Why was this individual free to commit another atrocity?

The knife wielding Somali maniac who attempted to murder two Jewish people on the street in London yesterday had already been convicted for stabbing two police officers and was a known extremist who was referred to the government’s counter terrorism program, yet was left free to launch another attack.

The suspect has now been named as Essa Suleiman, a 45-year-old Somali-born man who arrived in Britain as a child in the early 1990s and now holds British citizenship. The details of his past make the attack not just predictable – but preventable.

In 2008 in Swindon, Suleiman was convicted of grievous bodily harm after stabbing two police officers and a police dog while officers responded to a 999 call.

PC Neil Sampson and his dog Anya were among those attacked. Suleiman received a nine-year sentence.

He was also referred to the government’s Prevent counter-extremism programme in 2020. However, the case was closed later that same year.

Respondents on X summed up the mood surrounding this farce.

A man with a documented history of extreme violence and a Prevent referral should never have been free to roam British streets – let alone target a Jewish community already reeling from record antisemitic attacks.

Successive governments from both major parties failed to deport him after his original crimes.

Prevent, meant to stop extremism, evidently failed to act meaningfully. Mental health issues and “serious violence” history were known, yet nothing decisive was done.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley confirmed the background. Political leaders issued the usual condemnations.

None addressed the policy failures that allowed a foreign-born violent criminal with terror flags to remain in the country.

Britain’s Jewish community faces daily threats. Golders Green residents now question their safety in their own neighbourhoods.

When convicted cop-stabbers with Prevent histories can launch fresh attacks, the system is not merely broken – it is working against the public it claims to protect.

Unchecked mass immigration, weak deportation rules, and a counter-extremism apparatus distracted by politics rather than real threats have produced exactly the outcomes warned about for years. Another “diverse day,” another failure, more victims.

Until Britain puts its own citizens first, controls its borders, and deports dangerous individuals without hesitation, these incidents will continue. The pattern is clear. The excuses are exhausted.
