Outrage has exploded as public school students in Texas were loaded onto yellow school buses and driven straight to an Islamic center so they could experience Islam ‘up close’.
The organizers could barely contain their excitement. In their own promotional video, they celebrated how the kids showed up and potentially left transformed.
This is not happening in some blue-state sanctuary city. This is Texas.
Over 30 high school students from Humble ISD’s Kingwood High School and Atascocita High School were taken on a school-day field trip to the Centro Islamico, operated by IslamInSpanish in the Houston area.
The visit included a tour, lunch from halal food trucks, observation of midday prayer, and a presentation. Students were even provided scarves. A CAIR Houston representative spoke to them about their “rights as Muslim students and allies.”
The Islamic center’s own video, titled along the lines of students visiting a mosque and leaving changed, shows the school bus pulling up and the teens filing inside. A representative states: “It’s always exciting to have the opportunity to speak to the general community about Islam.”
He continues: “This past week, right before Ramadan started, we were blessed to have a group of high school students from Kingwood High School and Atascocita High School come and visit the Centro Islamico.” The group was mixed, he notes, and “their teachers wanted them to see a different side of the Muslims, the diversity within our community, and these are brothers and sisters.”
He adds: “One of the greatest blessings that we can have is to be able to explain to the younger generation not only what Islam is and how it impacted our lives, but also giving them an insight to the work of IslamInSpanish, and also what the Centro Islamico means to us.” The goal, according to the center, was an opportunity to wipe away misinformation and stereotypes so students could speak about what they heard and experienced.

IslamInSpanish lists the East Plano Islamic Center among its partners. That same network sits at the center of a much larger pattern unfolding across Texas.
Just days ago, McKinney City Council voted 7-0 to approve a major new Islamic center complex on 5.5 acres, complete with a 15,000-square-foot sanctuary, classroom building, and gym. Residents packed the meeting past midnight. More than 150 people spoke. An Iranian Christian refugee who fled Sharia law stood up and warned the council: “I’m a Sharia law survivor from Iran, an I’m here to tell you, this is a dangerous ideology you’re allowing in the country.”
Other residents voiced fears that the project could become a training ground for those seeking to overturn the nation’s foundations. U.S. Rep. Keith Self told the crowd that child marriage and honor killings are not theoretical under political Islam, and that “the freedom to choose one’s faith does not exist in political Islam.”
City officials claimed their hands were tied by zoning rules and the First Amendment. Locals saw something far more deliberate.
This is not an isolated zoning fight. Congressman Self has already exposed Sharia-adherent Muslim-only enclaves operating for years in East Plano and Irving, positioned right next to police headquarters. “Sharia is alive, well, and operating in Plano, Texas,” Self has stated, urging “This is not a hypothetical or future threat. It is here, now and operational.”
These parallel societies function with their own norms while sitting adjacent to American law enforcement.
The same East Plano Islamic Center has pushed the massive EPIC City project, rebranded as The Meadow, a planned 400-acre development with roughly 1,000 homes, a mosque, schools, and more. Texas leaders have openly worried about Sharia influence.
Developers scored a legal win when a judge ordered a state agency to comply with agreements even as federal investigations continued. Governor Greg Abbott has made clear that Sharia law, Sharia cities, and no-go zones have no place in Texas.
In May, Abbott directed the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to issue an immediate cease-and-desist order against the unauthorized Texas American Muslim University (TexAM) operating in the Dallas area without a required certificate of authority.
Abbott stated he directed the board “to issue a Cease & Desist to ‘TexAM,’ an unauthorized Islamic educational institution operating illegally in Texas,” warning that “If they refuse to comply, legal action will follow. Texas will not allow illegal educational institutions to operate in our state.”
Around the same period, a taxpayer-supported waterpark in Grand Prairie advertised a “Muslim only” Eid event complete with Islamic etiquette rules. Abbott intervened, making clear the city risked losing substantial state funding if the exclusive religious event proceeded on public facilities. The event was canceled.
Now the same networks that build exclusive enclaves, push mega-developments, operate unauthorized institutions, and secure city approvals for expanding centers are welcoming taxpayer-funded public school buses full of Texas teenagers for guided immersion.
Texas has long been a place that defended its culture, its laws, and its Christian heritage. Public schools exist to educate American children in the foundations of this country, not to deliver them as a captive audience for any foreign ideology’s outreach.
When school buses roll up to Islamic centers while churches remain carefully avoided, when “diversity” only ever seems to flow in one direction, and when parallel structures keep expanding under the banner of religious liberty that is not reciprocated, the pattern is no longer subtle.
Americans who still believe the nation was built on a specific civilizational inheritance have every right to reject the steady construction of competing systems inside their own communities.
Texas officials have already shown they can act against unauthorized universities and exclusive public events. The question is whether they will apply the same clarity when the target is the minds of the next generation riding on yellow buses paid for by the public.
