During a Senate Finance Committee hearing, regarding the Trump administration’s budget, Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden (OR) confronted HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about a news report of a 3-year-old girl being sexually abused in a foster home under an agency HHS oversees.

Wyden pressed RFK Jr. on why he wasn’t personally aware of the specific case. Kennedy pushed back sharply, acknowledging the incident but highlighting the far larger scale of the problem: tens of thousands of children sexually abused overall, and accusing the prior Biden administration of losing track of hundreds of thousands of migrant children (many placed with unvetted adults without proper identification, leading to widespread trafficking and abuse).

He questioned Wyden’s “sudden” outrage, calling it selective indignation since Democrats raised little alarm during the Biden years.

WYDEN: “You’re the Secretary of HHS… and you didn’t know a 3-year-old girl was being s*xually abused on your watch?”

RFK JR: “I can tell you there were tens of thousands… who were s*xually abused. The Biden administration lost 425,000 children, and you never complained.”

“Why are you suddenly worried about s*xual abuse of children now and trafficking when it was mass promoted under the Biden administration, where they gave 425,000 children to adults without identification?!”

WYDEN: “I’m asking the questions here!”

Kennedy clashed with Wyden further, as well as with other Democrats throughout the hearing:
