The media is continuing to ludicrously push the notion that Donald Trump has cognitive problems while ignoring Joe Biden’s brazenly obvious mental decline.
The latest example comes courtesy of CBS News and Margaret Brennan.
The Face the Nation host played a clip of Trump confusing President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama and then asked Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) about it.
“I know you have endorsed Mr. Trump,” Brennan said. “He seemed there to confuse Biden for Obama. He also suggested that there were U.S. troops serving in Ukraine. Are you comfortable about his mental fitness?” she asked.
“Compared to the current president?” Sullivan responded. “One hundred ten percent. And as your polling shows, I think the American people have real concerns where President Biden is with regard to his fitness for office, particularly his mental acuity. And relative to President Biden — or relative to former President Trump — I don’t even think it’s a close call when you see the two in action.”
While no one can deny that Trump makes the occasional verbal gaffe, to compare him to Joe Biden is utterly absurd.
As we previously highlighted, Biden could have been given a cognitive examination during his recent physical, but the White House deliberately chose not to.
This despite his bizarre behavior having clearly worsened in recent months with Biden continuing to fall over, get lost on stage, blunder his way through speeches which are at times incoherent and now a new habit of believing that he has recently spoken with long dead political leaders.
After Special counsel Robert Hur concluded in his report that Biden did not remember when he was vice-president or within “several years” when his son Beau died, Canadian neurologist Dr. Ziad Nasreddine, who invented the ‘gold standard’ of cognitive tests, told the New York Post that all ageing politicians should take it.
While the media has tried to pull a bait and switch, they’ve relentlessly run defense for Biden’s brazen cognitive decline.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre ludicrously said Dr O’Connor and Biden’s neurologist “don’t believe he needs” a cognitive exam, and added: “He passes a cognitive test every day, every day as he moves from one topic to another topic, understanding the granular level of these topics.”
But according to Dr. Marc Siegel, any normal person displaying Biden’s characteristics would be walking with a cane.
“To a lot of neurologists who I have talked to, it’s a shuffling gait that looks like it could come from some kind of neurological problem,” he said.
