Cringe: NBC Pushes Notion That Being Transgender Makes People Better Actors

As you can see from the ‘acting’ clips NBC chose to highlight, it doesn’t.

An NBC reporter ran a segment on entertainer Eddie Izzard, and suggested that being ‘gender fluid’ might make Izzard a better actor.

Yes, really.

Correspondent Joe Fryer introduces the piece by stating “Yeah, so here’s the deal: Izzard has no co-stars, this is a one-person production of the famous Shakespearean play [Hamlet].”

He continues, “Izzard, who uses she/her pronouns and came out as transgender in 1985, told me being gender fluid helps her portray so many roles, male and female. It’s a challenge she’s relishing.”

“Izzard, who uses she/her pronouns, is in the middle of doing Shakespeare’s Hamlet all by herself,” Fryer also states in the segment, which oddly didn’t actually contain any reference by Izzard to gender fluidity.

When you actually drill down into this, essentially Fryer is suggesting that because, you know, she/her is really a man or something, Izzard is probably better at doing all the different characters.

As you can see from the ‘acting’ clips NBC chose to highlight in the segment, no matter what gender Izzard wants to identify as, it’s clearly not helping on that front.

Ironically, in Shakespeare’s day all the female characters were actually played by men in dresses.

The ‘interview’ then further focused on such hard reaching questions as “how do you memorise so many words for a play?”

Ridiculous.

  1. I thought being a transvestite was different than being transgender? Izzard was on TV in the repeatedly talking about being a transvestite, preferring to wear womens clothes, nothing about him wanting to be a transexual, as they were called back then…

  2. The French government just passed a law to fine and imprison people for refusing to get injected with mRNA (modRNA) “vaccines.” 3years in prison and 45k euro fine.

This is not a surprise from a country where paedofilia is lega and they electe a necrophile president.

  3. Izzard is one of those few people who realised that being a transvestite was secondary to being entertaining. He then harnessed the unique qualities that come with his identity and turned it into a marketable persona. He is respected as a comedian who uses his identity in his set; the current generation wants to be respected FOR the identity without the inconvenience of having any other quality worth respecting.
