Another European city, another vehicle turned into a weapon, another Islamist with a rap sheet walking free until the bodies hit the ground.
On Saturday night in Berlin, a white van plowed into a crowd near the Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations in Tiergarten park. One woman is dead. Dozens more are injured, some critically.
The suspect fled after the crash and allegedly continued the attack with a blade. Police have identified him as 21-year-old Abdul B., also identified in German media as Abdul Rahman Toufic Ballout or Abdul Ballout, a German citizen of Lebanese origin born in the capital.
"People couldn't believe it because it's such a peaceful and joyful event."

German police have identified 21-year-old Abdul B as the suspect wanted in connection with a van ramming into Berlin's Pride Parade.
They said he belonged to Berlin's 'Islamist scene' and was known to… pic.twitter.com/ynbP33HMyQ
He is known to authorities as a member of the city’s Islamist scene. He had previously tried to join the Islamic State, traveling to Lebanon in 2025 in an unsuccessful bid before being arrested and returned to Germany.
In May he was convicted of preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state, received a suspended sentence, and was ordered into a deradicalization program he barely attended.

The man wanted is named "Abdul" and has Middle Eastern origin.
Imagine that.
The person who carried out another terror attack in Europe is an Islamist.

He was released from juvenile detention that same month. Police released his photo and warned the public he may be armed and dangerous. A major manhunt continues.

Police spokesperson Florian Nath confirmed the suspect’s background: “The suspect is known to police. He is known to us as a member of Islamic circles here in Berlin, and our search for this person is proceeding at full speed.”
BREAKING: It turns out, the van didn’t drive itself into a Pride parade.

Sorry for the spoiler, but it was a radical Muslim. pic.twitter.com/WKU61U3Fl8
Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt did not soft-pedal the nature of the attack. “Everything we are seeing here indicates that we have experienced an Islamist attack.” He described how the suspect “rammed into a crowd with a car” and then “attacked the crowd with some type of blade, it might have been a machete.”
Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner called it “an attack on all of us. It was an attack on our way of life and coexistence.” Chancellor Friedrich Merz labeled it “an abhorrent act” and vowed that Germany would defend its freedom.
The pattern is no longer shocking. Vehicle-ramming attacks by Islamists against soft civilian targets have become routine across Europe.
Just days ago, UK cities were installing more of the so-called “diversity barriers” — heavy anti-ram units designed to stop trucks from mowing down crowds at public events — because the threat is now treated as permanent.
Christmas markets, festivals, beaches, and city squares are being redesigned around the assumption that someone will try to drive a vehicle into people. That is the new normal produced by decades of open-border policies and the refusal to confront the ideology driving the attacks.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage noted the deeper contradiction: “The strange left wing alliance between Islamists and the LGBT community in this country cannot last.”
Horrendous attack in Berlin last night.

The targeting of an LGBTQ event is telling.
The Left won't know what to do with this one. https://t.co/D6fiqGFq0k

Actually, the did know what to do. Blame white men.
OMG. Liberal women are blaming “white men” for the Islamic extremist who ran over people at an LGBTQ parade in Berlin.

“You’re not going to scapegoat the Muslim community like they’re the violent ones, when it’s actually you (white men).”
Can’t make this sht up. ?? pic.twitter.com/0nbsKYgqys
Because Adbul ramming a bunch a of gay people in a van is our fault. Ok?
The cognitive dissonance is complete. Reality is treated as optional. The ideology that produces these attacks is protected. The people warning about it are smeared.
This is what managed decline looks like. Another known radical with prior attempts to join Islamic State, a conviction for preparing violence, and membership in Berlin’s Islamist circles is free on the streets to commit an atrocity.
Officials issue statements about freedom and coexistence. Barriers go up in other cities. And parts of the political class still prefer to lecture about “scapegoating” rather than remove the threat.
Europe has spent years importing the problem, then installing steel obstacles to mitigate the consequences while refusing to name the cause. The dead and injured in Berlin are the latest price of that choice.
