President Donald Trump tore into Rep. Ilhan Omar during a rally in The Villages, Florida, slamming the Minnesota Democrat for fleeing one of the world’s worst countries only to lecture Americans on how to run the nation.
Speaking at the event to highlight his historic Working Family Tax Cuts, Trump connected the dots on rampant Medicare and Medicaid fraud tied to Somali migrant networks in states like Minnesota and California. He praised Vice President JD Vance’s leadership of the anti-fraud task force now taking down hundreds and even thousands of suspects weekly.
“To further stop Medicare and Medicaid from being looted by criminals and thugs, we’ve launched a war on fraud,” Trump said. “You’ve been watching it in the papers; we’re all over Minnesota, California, all over the place. They’re taking down hundreds, and hundreds, and even thousands of people a week, in a day. It’s led by our great Vice President JD Vance. He’s doing a great job.”

"Good night brother, let's go to bed!"
"It's a lovely couple actually, bit on the illegal side. Darling… let's go to bed. Isn't she despicable? I can't stand watching.

Trump zeroed in on Omar’s Somali background, describing the country as having “no government” or military, with crime as its “one thing” that was “really strong.”
“They come here, and Ilhan Omar,” Trump continued. “Do you ever hear of her? She heads it. Think of it, they have nothing but crime, poverty, pollution, everything is horrible over there, nothing good. They say it’s the worst country anywhere in the world. We got some beauties out there, but it’s the worst. Then she comes here, from Somalia, and she tells us how to run the United States of America.”
He then turned personal, mocking allegations that Omar married her own brother to game the immigration system.
“I believe [Ilhan Omar] married her brother, which is totally illegal — although, it’s a lovely couple, actually, but it’s a little bit on the illegal side,” Trump said.
He then launched into a scenario between the siblings: “‘Darling, I love you very much.’ ‘Goodnight, brother. Let’s go to bed’ — Isn’t she despicable?”
Vance has previously confirmed the White House believes Omar “definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America” and is actively exploring legal remedies.
Last month, GOP Sen. Joni Ernst called out Omar for attempting to direct a $1 million earmark to what she described as a Somali restaurant masquerading as a substance abuse clinic.
“One of our spending bills making its way through Congress was a $1 million earmark from Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, which was an earmark that was supposedly going to a substance abuse clinic, which actually happened to be housed in a restaurant and run by three individuals that share the same residential address, according to their IRS paperwork. Tons of red flags,” Ernst said.
Earlier this year, an on-the-ground investigation exposed Omar’s husband’s winery, ESTCRU, as a phantom operation with zero wine production at its listed address despite revenue exploding from $15,000 in 2024 to up to $5 million in 2025.
“I visited the principal address of ESTCRU winery. This winery is co owned by US Rep of Minnesota Ilhan Omar’s husband, Timothy Mynett, yet seems to allegedly be a shell business used to launder funds,” journalist Angela Rose reported.
“In 2024 they made about $15,000 and in 2025 it exploded to up to $5 million dollars… yet they weren’t producing any wine.
Omar’s sudden wealth swing drew fresh skepticism in April when her disclosure showed assets between $6 million and $30 million before an amended filing slashed it to $18,004–$95,000. Her office blamed an “accounting error,” with a spokeswoman claiming the congresswoman “is not a millionaire” and amended voluntarily.
Legal representatives cited reliance on professionals, insisting “nothing untoward and nothing illegal has occurred.” Critics noted the timing amid probes into her husband’s businesses and Minnesota’s fraud scandals, where Omar urged Republicans to “investigate all you want.”
Trump’s State of the Union remarks in February already laid out the staggering scale: members of the Somali community in Minnesota alone “have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer,” with the real number likely much higher when California, Massachusetts, Maine and other states are included.
While Omar lectures Americans on the Constitution and demands her “certain rights,” the Trump administration’s war on fraud continues to expose how open-border policies and lax oversight have enabled massive taxpayer rip-offs. From alleged immigration fraud to sham businesses and suspicious earmarks, the scrutiny is only intensifying.
