Watch: Megyn Kelly Accuses Trump Of Having ‘Attention Span Of A Gnat’ On Iran

“He’s bored”

Megyn Kelly has launched another pointed attack on President Trump’s handling of developments with Iran, claiming he is bored with the conflict and eager to move on.

The criticism surfaced in a clip shared widely on X, just as Trump announced he was extending the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely to allow for further negotiations.

Kelly referenced reporting that Trump is ready to wrap things up, stating: “Trump is bored of this war and wants it over. Whatever.”

She continued: “Maybe it wasn’t the best thing to start if you didn’t have the patience to actually see it through.”

Kelly added: “It’s really too bad that the cost of American lives isn’t the motivator. It’s that Trump has moved on to other things because he has the attention span of a gnat.”

She noted that opponents of the conflict from the outset would welcome an end to it, whether driven by boredom or other factors.

The remarks comes as Trump moved to de-escalate immediate military risks. On Tuesday, he posted on Truth Social that the United States would extend the ceasefire with Iran, originally set to expire Wednesday.

Trump wrote: “Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal.”

He added: “I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other.”

The move followed requests from Pakistani leaders and came after earlier talks in Islamabad failed to produce an agreement. The U.S. has maintained its naval blockade of Iranian ports throughout.

Iran responded on Wednesday by attacking three ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports from AP News and other outlets covering the live developments.

Tehran has acknowledged the extension but has not committed to new talks, with state media noting the fractured state of its own government as a complicating factor.

Kelly previously described Trump as “bamboozled” and “gullible” on the issue, suggesting influence from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and others pushed him into the conflict.

She questioned whether he was “too weak to say no” or simply failed to see through certain arguments.

Trump pushed back, stating of critics like Kelly and Tucker Carlson “They’re not MAGA.”

He emphasized that true America First supporters back strong measures to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran.

Kelly has positioned herself as against the conflict from the start, framing her current critique around questions of presidential focus and commitment.

Her comments arrive at a moment when Trump is applying a mix of diplomatic extension and sustained economic pressure via the blockade, rather than immediate resumption of strikes.

Markets have reacted with relative calm to the extension, as noted in coverage from CNBC, with focus shifting elsewhere despite the ongoing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump’s decision keeps U.S. forces positioned while buying time for Tehran to present a cohesive offer, aligning with his long-stated preference for deals from strength rather than endless engagement.

The president has repeatedly stressed that any final resolution must prevent Iran from ever acquiring a nuclear weapon, while avoiding open-ended commitments that drain American resources.

As the situation evolves, with Iran’s latest actions in the Strait underscoring the fragility of the pause, the focus remains on whether negotiations can produce a lasting outcome or if further pressure will be required.
