Armed Man Claiming To Be Law Enforcement Detained By USSS At Charlie Kirk Memorial Site

An armed individual who alleged a connection to law enforcement was detained Friday at the Arizona Cardinals football stadium, according to officials.

The stadium — which can hold up to 73,000 people for large events — is set to hold a vigil for Charlie Kirk Sunday, the outlet reported. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are slated to speak during the event to honor Kirk.

The individual was spotted acting suspiciously at the stadium and was subsequently investigated, a U.S. Secret Service spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Saturday.

“The U.S. Secret Service in coordination with local law enforcement in Glendale, Arizona, is investigating an individual who was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior at State Farm Stadium,” spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said.

“The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed. The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody,” Guglielmi added.

The individual was found carrying a knife and a gun. After being approached by federal agents, he presented them with fake credentials, which led to him being detained, Matt Finn said during a Saturday segment of Fox & Friends.

“This guy is a former deputy sheriff out of Idaho. He came and identified himself with expired credentials. They are going through his background and trying to figure out what he was up to there,” another federal source familiar with the investigation told the outlet.
