Humza Yousaf, the Scottish First Minister who infamously went on a tirade against white people in parliament and then oversaw the passing of extreme ‘hate crime’ laws in the country has been forced to resign.
Yousaf’s announcement came after it became clear that he was not going to survive two confidence votes, one in him and another in his SNP government, tabled in the Scottish Parliament by opposition parties.
Yousaf had ended a power sharing deal with the Green Party, and it became evident that he would not be able to secure enough support to lead a new minority government.
That is because he pushed radical gender ideology and oversaw the passage into law of the most draconian ‘hate crime’ legislation in history.
Last week, Yousaf desperately attempted to stay in power by begging the Conservatives to align with him, but then claimed during his resignation that he wasn’t willing to sell out his principles so decided to step down.
As we have highlighted, under the new ‘hate crime’ legislation, anyone deemed to have been verbally ‘abusive’, in person or online, to a transgender person, including “insulting” them could be hit with a prison sentence of up to seven years.
Leaks of police training material heightened concerns over the legislation as they revealed that actors and comedians were listed as targets.
Yousaf justified the new laws, declaring that graffiti close to his house and aimed at him meant that a “zero tolerance” approach is needed toward ‘hate’.
As soon as the law came into force, thousands of people used the opportunity to report Yousaf himself for ranting against white people holding positions of authority in Scotland, a country that is 96 percent white.
Yousaf declared that anyone doing this should be considered “far right.”
It then emerged that police staff taking ‘hate crime’ calls to report the First Minister were told to read a pre-prepared transcript defending the First Minister, and stating that when Yousaf referred to “white people”, overwhelmingly being in positions of authority in Scotland, which he argued was wrong, he had been “pointing out a matter of fact.”
Police received 8000 ‘hate crime’ complaints in just the first week of the law coming into play, equating to more than the annual total of all hate crime reports for all previous years.
The number is on course to out number the total of all other offences combined.
Calum Steele, the former general secretary of the Scottish Police Federation, declared that officers “are genuinely embarrassed,” adding that “They feel that the service and by extension [they] as individual police officers will catch some of the public brunt.”
Police Scotland are having to pay officers in their control room “hundreds of thousands” in overtime to deal with the deluge of ‘hate crime’ reports:

While one report was logged with police every minute for the first week, General Secretary of the Scottish Police Federation David Kennedy noted that “The number of complaints that translated into actual hate crime investigations is extremely small,” saying it constitutes under one percent.
Polling from earlier this month revealed that after the introduction of the law, Yousaf had an approval rating of minus 32, equating to a 15-point drop since the beginning of the year.
The report noted that even among people who voted for his Party, more believed he was doing a poor job than those who thought he was doing well.
This is Yousaf’s legacy, and Scotland is now saddled with an historic anti-freedom of speech law. Will it be overturned?

They didn’t. The previous incumbent resigned in disgrace before she was pushed (her husband has just been charged with embezzlement of party funds). The Scottish electorate were NOT given a say/vote in Humza Yousaf as First Minister, in exactly the same way as the UK had no say with Rishi Sunak, the Welsh, no say with Vaughan Gething. So 3 of the 4 UK leaders were not elected and have no mandate. Democracy is now demonstrably dead in the UK.
