Gymfluencer Puts Hands on Man For Walking in Front of His Shot

A growing epidemic.

Yet another example of a ‘gymfluencer’ acting obnoxiously has emerged, with a clip showing a man physically retrain another gym goer because he walked in front of his camera shot.

So-called ‘CEO of Gym Positivity’ Joey Swoll drew attention to the incident on X.

The clip shows a black man setting up his camera shot before preparing to use a machine.

Another man then walks into the frame, prompting the black man to complain, “Don’t walk past my video, bro!”

“Bro, don’t walk past my video, bro, I said I’m recording right here, bro,” he repeats as he uses his hand to push the man back.

An inaudible conversation then ensues between the two.

Swoll called on LA Fitness, where the altercation took place, to ban the man from their locations in order to protect other gym users.

“You really think it’s okay to put your hands on someone for walking through your video, seriously?” asked Swoll.

“And then you go and you post this to social media as if this is something you want to brag about?” he added.

“Just because you’re filming does not mean that everybody else has to stop their workout just for you,” said Swoll, pointing out that the man hadn’t even started his routine.

When respondents on Instagram called the man out for his behavior, he responded with not so subtle violent threats.

“I really hope that LA Fitness sees this and they remove you to protect their members,” said Swoll.

As we document in the video below, this is a worsening phenomenon.

While some gyms in the UK and Australia have banned filming inside the gym, the vast majority of major franchises in America still allow it.

  1. I should buy one of these work out gyms. If I did own one in your terms of service agreement would be a clause similar to this. “This is a workout place, if you attempt to make stupid influencer videos interruptions may occur and any axxwhoopings you get for saying something about someone in your shot is all on you baby! We don’t tolerate stupid people!”

  2. Yes I do actually ! If the half asleep moron is stupid enough to walk in on someone video taping their workout then he deserved to be told to back off, and if the idiot didn’t understand when told what the guy was doing, then yes he does deserve to be shoved out of the way.
And then we have an entitled white gym-rat whining about it after the fact, with, “Do you really think it’s OK for the guy needs to put his hands on him”. The idiot should have immediately apologized and taken his work-out somewhere else, but he didn’t he wanted to argue that he had a right to go where he wanted. I’m like White on Rice and I agree with the black guy. The intruder needs to wake up and get his head out of his @ss !

    1. Unless the moron making his stupid video has written permission and PAID FOR THE SPACE HE AND ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THIS BS CAN GFT!

    2. I record myself beating off in the corner of the gym. Anybody tells me to stop we be throwing hands….. errrr hand.

  3. If you’re there to scope yourself out instead of to get a workout, you might as well stay at home and film yourself spanking your weasel!
That’s why I have a gym at home! No weasel spankers!
