A Syrian migrant has been arrested after randomly attacking and stabbing a four year old child in a German supermarket in yet another senseless attack.
According to reports, the girl was “seriously injured” and rushed to hospital for surgery. She is now said to be in a stable condition.
The incident occurred in the small town of Wangen, Baden-Württemberg, and would have been much worse had a bystander not immediately disarmed the lunatic and chased him away.
“He took the knife away from the man and then chased him,” a police spokeswoman told German outlet Bild on Thursday, adding “The witness called the police and told us where the man was. That’s how my colleagues were able to arrest him.”
The attacker is said to be a 34-year-old a Syrian national with a Dutch passport. It is not known how or why he was in Germany or how long he had been there before committing the horrific attack.
Another report notes that Ravensburg police said “the man suddenly approached the four-year-old girl and injured her with a knife”.
They continued,“the two did not know each other until then and there was probably no previous relationship,” adding that “crimes of this kind are very rare”.
Are they though? This kind of violent crime seems to happen quite often in Germany since around 2015 ish.
