Globalist elites in the European Parliament have threatened to place sanctions and a travel ban on Tucker Carlson as a direct result of him interviewing Vladimir Putin, according to a report.
Newsweek asserts that Guy Verhofstadt, former Belgian Prime Minister and current member of the European Parliament told the outlet he wants a “travel ban,” calling Carlson a “mouthpiece” for Putin, and Donald Trump.
Verhofstadt added “As Putin is a war criminal and the EU sanctions all who assist him in that effort, it seems logical that the External Action Service examine [Carlson’s] case as well.”
The EU’s External Action Service (EAS) is the body responsible for reviewing and presenting cases for sanctions to the European Council, which would then make a decision.
Verhofstadt‘s threat is a lengthy bureaucratic journey away from becoming a reality, however it betrays the mindset of such figures who believe they have the authority to shut down and censor a journalist merely for talking to the leader of Russia.
Luis Garicano, a former MEP, also told Newsweek he agreed with Verhofstadt, stating that Carlson “is no longer a newsman, but a propagandist for the most heinous regime on European soil and the one which is most dangerous to our peace and security.”
MEP Urmas Paet further charged “Carlson is not being a real journalist since he has clearly expressed his sympathy for the Russian regime and Putin and has constantly disparaged Ukraine, the victim of Russian aggression.”
“So, for such propaganda for a criminal regime, you can end up on the list of sanctions. This concerns primarily travel ban to EU countries,” Paet added.
Elon Musk, who has promised not to restrict the interview in any form when it is uploaded to X, responded to the report, calling it “disturbing.”
“One may agree with Tucker or not, but he is a major American journalist and such an action would greatly offend the American public,” Musk posted.
Musk earlier declared that people calling for Carlson to be arrested for the crime of journalism should actually be the ones who are punished.
Musk himself has previously been threatened with sanctions by the EU unless he complies with their demands to act on so called ‘misinformation’ on X, while last month President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen addressed elites at the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling for overarching globalist control over the flow of all information in the digital age.
