Watch: RFK Jr Says He Supports FULL TERM Abortion

His running mate admits “I don’t know where that came from”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr has announced that he supports abortion up until birth, surprising many, including his own VP pick.

RFK made the remarks in an interview with Sage Steele, noting “I believe we should leave it to the woman, we shouldn’t have the government involved,” and adding “even if it’s full term.”

At the beginning of the conversation, Kennedy added the caveat that he believes “Every abortion is a tragedy,” and “Many of them leave permanent trauma on a woman.”

“But I think, ultimately, I don’t trust government to have a jurisdiction over people’s bodies. I think we should leave it to the woman, her pastor, and y’know, her spiritual advisers or her physician or whatever to make those decisions,” he further told Steele.

“I don’t think any woman has ever, ever in history, has said ‘I’m going to have a baby — I’m going to get pregnant and carry that baby to eight months of term and then I’m going to terminate the pregnancy,” he further clarified, adding “I don’t think anybody wants to do that.”

“I don’t trust the state and I think we need to trust the woman,” RFK Jr. reitterated.

Last year, RFK stated that he believes abortion should be left up to the mother “during the first three months of life,” adding that the state has a duty to protect the child “once a child is viable outside the womb.”

When asked for clarification, his campaign stated that he does not support legislation banning abortion, and that he believes it is “always the woman’s right to choose.”

The New York Post notes that RFK’s running mate Nicole Shanahan didn’t believe it when Steele told her about the latest remarks in a subsequent interview.

“That is not Bobby’s position, at least as far as I understand it,” Shanahan responded, adding “My understanding with Bobby’s position is that, you know, every abortion is a tragedy, is a loss of life.”

“My understanding is that he absolutely believes in limits on abortion, and we’ve talked about this,” Shanahan continued, stating “I do not think, I don’t know where that came from.”

Shanahan further suggested there could have been “miscommunication” between Kennedy and Steele, and that she thinks he meant “it should always feel like a woman’s choice to the final moment.”

Shanahan made clear her views on abortion in April, stating that she does not like “the feeling of anyone having control over my body,” adding that personally she “would not feel right terminating a viable life living inside of me.”

Did RFK change his stance on abortion?

His campaign press secretary Stefanie Spear told The Post Thursday that “Mr. Kennedy believes that abortion is a tragedy, and that late-term abortions are horrifying.”

“He believes that the mother has the final say, and moral responsibility, in such decisions. He is committed to reducing the abortion rate by supporting mothers and families and implementing universally affordable child care,” Spear added.

Donald Trump, who last month said that abortion laws should be determined by the states, has said that he’d even prefer Joe Biden over RFK, noting “A lot of people think that Junior is a conservative. He’s not. He’s more liberal than anybody running on the Democratic side.”

Trump further asserted that “A vote for Junior would essentially be a wasted protest vote,” and that RFK is a “Democrat plant, a radical left liberal who has been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden.”

Seeing this, conservatives who may have been considering RFK appear to have abandoned those thoughts:
