During a White House Press briefing recently, a far left reporter attempted to convince Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that the Texas National Guard should be seized and federalised.
Andrew Feinberg, who is the White House correspondent for the British newspaper The Independent, asked Jean-Pierre when “enough is enough” with the Texas National Guard “being used to frustrate federal authority” at the border.
“They are being used to get in the way of federal immigration enforcement and to flout a court order from a federal court,” Feinberg complained.
This is rich given that Texas had to deploy the Guard precisely because zero enforcement of federal immigration laws has been happening.
Feinberg continued, “At what point does the president step in and say, ‘Enough of that, these are American soldiers, I am federalising the National Guard, ordering them to let the Border Patrol do their jobs because they took an oath to the Constitution and I am their commander-in-chief.'”
“There appears to be a concerted effort led by the governor of Texas and joined by Republican governors, encouraged by the Republican likely nominee for president, who I know you can not talk about up there, to flout federal authority, to undermine federal authority,” Feinberg further bemoaned.
“You don’t seem to be willing to say the president will uphold the authority of the federal government,” he added.
Jean-Pierre refused to talk about actions Biden might take, likely because there won’t be any, and gave her usual spiel about Biden already having done everything he can to secure the border.
Biden said Tuesday that he needs to be given power to do something with the Border Patrol, despite it being a federal agency.
After claiming there is nothing more he can do, Biden instead spent time quote tweeting Elmo, a Sesame Street puppet, about emotional well being.
The White House has not ruled out an attempt to federalise the Texas National Guard, after several Democrats called on the Biden Administration to do so.
The move would be ill advised, however, particularly given that senior figures within Customs and Border Protection have stated that they have a good relationship with the Texas Guard and there are no plans to have Border Patrol agents remove the razor wire barriers they continue to put up and maintain.

Someone please kick this guy in the face.
That is neither one of them’s job.
No, they’re being used to get around the federal immigration services dereliction of duty.
