White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would not rule out the Biden Administration seizing control of the Texas National Guard Thursday.
During an interview on CNN, Jean-Pierre was asked if Biden would listen to the Democrats calling for federalisation of the Texas Guard as it continues to put up razor wire barriers on sections of the border.
Jean-Pierre accused Texas Governor Greg Abbot of “politicising the situation,” and claiming that it is “unfortunate” that they had to go to the Supreme Court for a ruling that Border Patrol agents can take down the barriers.
She claimed Abbot is “making it harder for law enforcement at the border to do their job,” and that the Biden Administration “wants to get something done at the border.”
Jean-Pierre further asserted that Abbot is “not interested” in finding a solution to the border crisis and is “not helping communities” there.
“I’m not going to speak to any actions that the President might or might not take,” she concluded, referring to the potential usurpation of the Texas Guard.
Biden has given Texas a 24 hour deadline to allow Border Patrol to remove the razor wire or face consequences, while Abbot himself stated that Texas will continue to work to prevent criminals from entering the State:

Having been a teacher of U.S. history for four decades, I have a measure of proud familiarity with and a great deal of genuine respect for most all of America’s past presidents. On the other hand, Joe Biden as our current excuse for one, a man filled with such an unmistakably obvious blend of narcissism and stupidity, is the most damaging chief executive this country has ever had the misfortune to be diminished by. Sadly, setting the concept of Democrat or Republican aside, and whether we mistakenly reelect him or not, both the short and long term results of Biden’s mirror-rehearsed phoniness to date are foreshadowing disasters we could never have imagined just a few short years ago. Accordingly let’s pray America’s voters will have the common sense not to speed up those unavoidable tragedies by putting back in the driver’s seat a man who looks only in the rear view mirror at his own drama-motivated face. Let’s not keep mistaking a bad actor for an actual accomplisher.
