Wilders Moves Closer to Forming Coalition Government

Despite media insisting otherwise.

Despite the media insisting otherwise, Dutch populist Geert Wilders is actually moving closer to forming a coalition government in the Netherlands.

Wilders pulled off a shock victory in last week’s elections, trouncing his rivals after what was predicted by polls to be a virtual dead heat.

However, his chances of forming a majority government were dealt a blow by major center-right party VVD asserting it wouldn’t be a junior coalition partner in a Wilders-led cabinet.

That has now changed, with VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz indicating on X that she is ready to work with Wilders.

“Voters have expressed a strong preference for a centre-right coalition,” wrote Yesilgöz.

“I have just informed the scout that the VVD is happy to make this coalition possible.

“The VVD is very willing to support a coalition of PVV, NSC and BBB from the House, so that important issues such as reducing migration, building more homes and lower costs for people at home can be arranged.”

“We can work out the precise form of the collaboration together.”

“Let’s get started on this quickly together!”

If Wilders has the VVD on board, along with the Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB), the only remaining hurdle would be to convince the New Social Party (NSP) to join his coalition.

That means Wilders would have to compromise on some of his hardline policies, because NSP leader Pieter Omtzigt has said he is “not ready” to enter talks because the PVV manifesto “contains views which in our judgment go against the constitution.”

“We notice that Mr Wilders has said he wants to put the relevant parts of his manifesto ‘in the freezer’. But it is not clear what he means by this. What is the status of the PVV manifesto now?” asked Omtzigt.

The media is reporting this like it’s a flat no and Wilders has no chance of forming a majority coalition, but Omtzigt’s comments clearly suggest the door may still be ajar.

It might take some time though – previous negotiations after the 2021 election took 299 days.

Alternatively, Wilders has indicated he could form a minority government with himself installed as Prime Minister.

  1. Has anyone noticed how all of the, mostly peaceful, countries that warmly welcomed the OTHERS from the mostly shi*thole countries; are now regretting that decision. The Netherlands have spoken loudly…can you hear them?

  2. Its too early to tell if he is the real deal or just another psyop. I hope for the Netherlands sake he is genuine. I love the Netherlands.

    1. I would be VERY suspicious of Wilders, not a full white, he also sounds like a zionist with his support for israel.

You can dislike islam islam and still dislike the israeli genocide of palestinians. He does not call out that genocide as evil.

Israel will send all those muslims to europe too, btw.

      1. I would be too. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. The so called right in Sweden and Italy have been a disaster, there is even a picture of meloni wearing the star of David around her neck ffs.

    2. Probably not the real deal, the best way to deal with opposition is to lead them yourself, look at Wilders comments about israel.

If he was really against islamic migration to the west, he would be condemning israel displacing islamic people.

    3. Good Day,
I have followed the trials and now triumph of Mr. Wilders. He is authentic and as honest as they come. He is a politician but has not lost his moral compass and is a nationalist for good measure. Cheers Mr. Wilders…Cheers.

  3. Wilders can be a minority government and seek individual policy support from none coalition parties so NSP can oppose ‘constitutional’ issues. Does anyone know what these are?
