Harry Potter author JK Rowling has expressed support for Macy Grey after the singer was labeled ‘transphobic’ and a ‘fascist’ for saying biological men cannot become women through surgery.
As we highlighted earlier this week, the Grammy Award winning musician was attacked by the trans mob after stating during an interview “I will say this, and everybody’s going to hate me, but as a woman, just because you go change your parts doesn’t make you a woman. Sorry.”
While earlier noting that her comments have been ‘grossly misunderstood,’ Grey stood her ground against the attacks:
Rowling, who has also been relentlessly attacked by the mob for standing up for women’s rights, tweeted to 13 million followers “Today feels like a good day to ensure I’ve bought [Macy Gray]’s entire back catalogue.”
