A 52-year-old Syrian citizen was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for raping a 6-year-old girl in Austria and various other sexual crimes. The sentence has already been slammed as too light by the anti-immigration Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), which is calling for the man’s immediate deportation.
The court found him guilty of rape, aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, and possession and distribution of child pornography, totaling approximately 6,000 pornographic photos and videos of children. The verdict is final.
Last July, the convicted man watched a child playing outside in the building’s courtyard and then lured her into his apartment by offering her candy. Once there, the girl was kept against her will and brutally raped.
According to the prosecutor, “He lured the girl with a lollipop and then pushed her into his apartment.“
During the trial, the Syrian, who needed an interpreter and lives on Austrian welfare payments, initially pleaded not guilty, according to Kronen Zeitung. He claimed there was no rape and that his behavior was limited to “touching.” The man claimed during the trial, “She went along voluntarily because she wanted to help me with the armchairs. She played and laughed. I only touched her briefly when she was standing at the bedside.”
A breakthrough came after the victim was questioned on camera. The 52-year-old then changed his story and admitted to the charges.
The child is said to have been raped next to the bed “through an act equivalent to sexual intercourse. Clear DNA traces were found in the girl’s intimate area.”
During a search of the man’s apartment, police seized between 5,500 and 6,000 files containing child abuse material. It was determined that he not only stored the material but also distributed it via instant messaging. The judge noted that the files contained horrific abuse of “children and babies.”
During the course of the investigation, police revealed that the man had also approached another girl in the park and showed her a pornographic video on his smartphone; he then proceeded to ask her if she wanted to do the same acts in the video with him. He confessed to this act during the trial as well.
According to the defense attorney, the Syrian could not be entirely blamed because he had previously taken a “potency drug,“ which allegedly left him “in an uncontrollable state“ of sexual arousal. This drug turned out to be testosterone, which the man was taking for his gym routine.
Only four years in prison
The Syrian’s four-year prison sentence is not enough, according to the Austrian Freedom Party’s (FPÖ) Secretary-General Michael Schnedlitz, who calls for a zero-tolerance policy against imported crime and deportation of the Syrian.
In a statement, Schnedlitz sees the rape of the child as a “terrible result of a completely irresponsible immigration policy” and only happened due to the “welcoming culture of the system parties has brought about in our homeland.“
Schnedlitz considers it unreasonable that the Austrian population should now also pay for the maintenance and treatment of such criminals: “This man has forfeited his hospitality in the most brutal way imaginable. Instead of discussing whether he will receive therapy in this country, the only logical consequence must be immediate deportation to his homeland of Syria.“
He emphasizes that the Syrian was already living on Austrian social benefits.
“Every euro that goes into detention, justice and therapy for such perpetrators is one euro too many. It is a perversion of the system that with our hard-earned tax money we also finance ‘full provision‘ for criminal foreigners who deeply despise our society and attack our children,“ stated Schnedlitz. He noted that the huge trove of child abuse material on his computer shows “that we are dealing with a ticking time bomb that was only able to reach Austria thanks to the policy of open borders.”
The Freedom Party reiterated the FPÖ’s demand for a “Fortress Austria“ that protects its own citizens and children. The party is by far the most popular party in the country, reaching 38 to 40 percent in the majority of polls conducted.
Europe has been plagued by foreigners and their appetite for sexual crimes, which have often targeted minors. Police are still looking for the suspect below in neighboring Switzerland. Remix News is providing a screenshot since the post on X has been censored and cannot be embedded on our website.
