Lifelong Democrat Strategist Doug Schoen: “This Party Has Been Taken Over By The Far Left”

“Redistribution, higher taxes, demonization of success—it’s not my party, it’s not America”

A veteran Democratic party insider is now confirming the radical shift that’s driving moderates away.

In a pointed appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, lifelong Democratic strategist and pollster Doug Schoen delivered a blunt verdict on the state of his former party. Schoen, who worked for President Bill Clinton, made clear the transformation has gone too far.

“This party has been taken over by the far left… redistribution, higher taxes, demonization of success—it’s not my party, it’s not America!” he stated.

Schoen contrasted today’s Democratic Party with the one he knew under Clinton, which he said balanced the budget, reduced debt and deficits, and worked to curb illegal immigration. That version of the party, he argued, is gone—replaced by a far-left progressive machine obsessed with wealth redistribution and punishing success.

The viral clip frames the moment as Democrats actively push away their own supporters because the party has become a cult.

This bombshell admission lands just one day after CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten dropped his own reality check. Enten laid out the grim numbers: congressional Democrats are “atrociously awful” even with their own base.

Over 70 percent of voters overall disapprove, and a majority of Democrats themselves reject their congressional leaders. “Even Democrats don’t like their own leaders when it comes to Congress,” Enten noted.

The timing couldn’t be more telling. While mainstream media often downplays the internal rot, Schoen’s public break and Enten’s polling data paint the same picture: the Democratic Party’s embrace of far-left policies is repelling the very voters it once claimed to represent.

Moderates who once supported fiscal restraint and secure borders now see a party that prioritizes open-borders globalism, punishing achievement, and endless government redistribution.

X users quickly piled on, echoing the frustration with the party’s direction.

Another summed up the collapse:

A third described Dems as “zealots”:

The broader trend is unmistakable. Common sense policies—secure borders, economic growth through opportunity rather than redistribution, and rejection of woke cultural overreach—continue to gain ground precisely because they reflect the values the old Democratic Party once shared with working Americans.

The far-left takeover has left the party unrecognizable to its own veterans and increasingly toxic to its voters.

Schoen’s exit is the latest signal that the radical elements now controlling the Democratic machine are driving it straight into irrelevance.

Voters aren’t buying the cult anymore—and the polling proves it. As the party doubles down on the very policies that alienate moderates and working families, the American electorate is moving on.

Freedom, opportunity, and self-reliance are winning out over redistribution and resentment.

The future belongs to those who put America first.

  1. And yet, the mainstream media is propagandizing for the return to power in ’26 and ’28 as though they still have the numbers to do so. The myth is just that, a myth. There is no way they will LEGALLY resume control of the House and Senate, folks.
