A video circulating online captures a heavily armed robot dog taking the lead in a close-quarters battle exercise, methodically clearing rooms and hallways before any soldier follows.
Militaries worldwide—from Ukraine to Russia to China and the US—are now shoving these machines into the deadliest confined spaces on the modern battlefield, where first entry has always meant first casualties.
The footage, shows the quadruped bot advancing aggressively through tight urban combat scenarios. It is yet another sign that the shift is underway: robots are being tasked with the jobs human troops once had to do themselves.
A private company in Shandong, China, demonstrated the correct use of robotic “wolves” and drones: they first provide fire suppression, then soldiers advance.

As Mike LeBlanc, co-founder of the humanoid robotics company Foundation, put it, “The future of conflict is already here – our adversaries will use robots. The only real decision is whether we build and deploy systems to counter them, or ask someone’s son to do that job instead.”
China once again leads the pack of repeat offenders in this dystopian arms race. As we highlighted earlier, Beijing is unleashing machine gun-toting robot wolves equipped with a “collective brain” for coordinated pack-hunting in simulated street battles.
Last summer the Chinese military unveiled the robot murder wolves and drones that make a mockery of Asimov’s laws of robotics.
In February Russian soldiers were filmed surrendering to a gun-wielding robot humanoid, signaling how close we already are to robot-on-human warfare.
And just last month we covered humanoid robots being given literal “brains,” raising dual-use fears as these systems blur the line between civilian tech and lethal battlefield tools.
Yet the threat doesn’t stop at foreign battlefields. Here at home the same technology is already being turned inward.
Just yesterday we reported on Atlanta robot security dogs now issuing verbal commands to Americans in apartment complexes and parking lots, complete with cameras, sirens, and remote operators who call the cops even when citizens comply peacefully.
The footage shows a friendly woman greeting the machine, following its orders instantly, only for the robot to rat her out anyway. That is the surveillance state arriving on four metallic legs.
The future of conflict is here, yes—but so is the future of domestic overreach. The real decision isn’t just whether we build the robots. It’s whether we let them be turned against our own people while we sleepwalk into a machine-dominated world.
