Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has joined forces with NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani to hawk free childcare to illegal immigrants in a cringeworthy Spanish-only video, right as the city is flat broke and floats massive tax increases on hardworking New Yorkers.
This shameless handout underscores the left’s playbook: shower foreign invaders with taxpayer dollars while Trump’s America First deportation machine gears up to clear out criminal elements.
In the video, Mamdani kicks things off by admitting his Spanish is rusty, and essentially admitting he’s there to smile and nod along.

Ocasio-Cortez jumps in, assuring him, “Don’t worry, Mayor.”
She then lays out the pitch in Spanish: “If your child is turning three or age four in 2026, you can enroll them in free 3-K or Pre-K in New York City.”
She adds, “Any New York City parent, regardless of your occupation, income or immigration status is eligible to sign their child up.”
Ocasio-Cortez adds that the application comes in over 200 languages, making it crystal clear this is aimed at non-English speakers, many of whom crossed the border illegally.
As conservative commentator Tara Servatius pointed out on X, this comes hot on the heels of Mamdani warning last week: “We’re broke and we’re gonna need to raise your property taxes 10%.”
Yet this week, it’s all about “free daycare for illegals. Here’s how you sign up,” Servatius raged.
This push aligns with broader sanctuary city antics, where Democrats like Mamdani have long championed policies shielding illegals from federal enforcement.
Both figures are vocal backers of NYC’s sanctuary status, which bars local cooperation with ICE and offers a slew of benefits to migrants.
It also ties directly into Ocasio-Cortez’s recent efforts to sabotage immigration enforcement, including her announcement of “teach-ins” to train agitators on blocking ICE operations and doxxing agents.
That move drew fire for fueling violence against federal officers amid a spike in threats and assaults on ICE personnel.
Now, with deportations surging under Trump, this freebie frenzy looks like a desperate bid to entrench migrant populations in blue strongholds.
Polls consistently show Americans fed up with unchecked migration: majorities support mass deportations and demand local authorities work with ICE to boot out criminals.
But Democrats persist in funneling resources to illegals, from free housing and healthcare to now childcare, all on the taxpayer dime.
Mamdani himself confirmed in prior statements that these programs won’t check immigration status, declaring them open to “every single New Yorker.”
Critics argue this only incentivizes more illegal entries, straining city budgets already buckling under the weight of the Biden-era border crisis.
As NYC stares down a potential 10% property tax spike to plug holes, American families get the short end—higher bills, fewer services—while migrants score windfalls.
This hypocrisy lays bare the left’s contempt for citizens who play by the rules, opting instead to build a dependent voter base at any cost.
