Hollywood Producer Suggests Epstein Asked Bill Gates “How Do We GET RID Of Poor People As A Whole?”

Some think this is a reference to depopulation

A viral X post has ignited fresh scrutiny of Jeffrey Epstein’s vast network of powerful associates, spotlighting a 2011 email exchange that some are claiming exposes the casual tone elites used when touching on population control topics.

The message, pulled from U.S. Department of Justice releases of Epstein’s documents, features Hollywood producer Barry Josephson writing directly to Epstein and referencing a question Epstein had apparently asked Bill Gates: “How do we get rid of poor people as a whole?”

Josephson then states he has “an answer,” before the conversation pivots to a 16 year-old “niece” of Epstein’s — focusing on her age, location in New York, and contact details for her mother — apparently so Josephson could explore involving her in a film shoot.

The full thread, available in DOJ Data Set 9 (EFTA01157206.pdf), shows the exchange unfolding in a single chain. Josephson initiates the population remark, then seamlessly shifts to professional favors tied to Epstein’s young ‘relative’. No further elaboration on the “answer” appears in the visible emails.

The X thread that surfaced the 2011 email frames the exchange as direct evidence of coordinated depopulation thinking among billionaires and their enablers. Replies quickly connected it to Gates’ heavy promotion of COVID-19 vaccines worldwide, with users demanding accountability and labeling the entire episode “horrific.”

The post has garnered tens of thousands of engagements within hours, reflecting persistent public distrust of unaccountable global figures.

Critics of the viral framing note the email does not show Gates himself writing the words, nor does it reveal any concrete plan — only Josephson alluding to a prior conversation between Epstein and Gates. Yet the casual manner in which such a topic arises, immediately followed by discussion of placing a young girl in Epstein’s orbit for “work,” underscores the grotesque normalcy these circles maintained.

Others point out it could just be a badly worded paraphrase of a query like ‘how do we end poverty?’

Public records and prior Epstein document releases confirm repeated contact between Josephson and Epstein. In 2015, for instance, Epstein pitched Josephson on a film idea defending men “falsely accused” of sexual misconduct, citing Bill Cosby and Prince Andrew as inspiration. Josephson engaged on script development.

Bill Gates’ own documented relationship with Epstein is well-established. Gates has admitted to multiple meetings with Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction, later calling them a “mistake” driven by hopes of philanthropic collaboration.

Gates has repeatedly advocated for reducing global population growth through better healthcare and vaccination — remarks from his 2010 TED Talk, where he stated that improved vaccines could lower population by 10-15 percent, continue to circulate widely.

Epstein’s files continue to drip out revelations years after his death, repeatedly exposing how billionaires, producers, academics, and politicians treated him as a useful node in their networks. Gates’ foundation poured billions into global health initiatives that critics argue concentrate power in unelected hands. Hollywood’s willingness to overlook Epstein’s crimes for potential career favors fits a pattern seen across industries.

These glimpses into elite backchannels serve as stark reminders. Ordinary citizens — the very people discussed in abstract terms — have every right to demand full transparency, rigorous scrutiny of philanthropic empires, and consequences for those who viewed human lives as data points or casting opportunities.

The real scandal is not merely one email. It is the normalization of such conversations among those who shape policy, entertainment, and “global health” without ever facing accountability. As more documents emerge, the pressure for real oversight — not performative statements or foundation press releases — will only intensify.
