In yet another jaw-dropping moment from the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Julie Johnson (D-TX) twisted a brutal terrorist attack on National Guard members into a tale of misplaced “frustration,” as if cold-blooded murder is just another outlet for Biden-era policy gripes.
This comes hot on the heels of fellow Dem Rep. Bennie Thompson’s infamous dismissal of the same atrocity as a mere “accident,” exposing the left’s dangerous habit of minimizing threats to American heroes to protect their open-borders legacy.
Johnson’s remarks, captured during a hearing grilling DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on security threats, veered into outright sympathy for the chaos unleashed by unchecked immigration. Speaking with apparent conviction, she claimed the violence stems from broader discontent with rule-of-law enforcement under the new administration.

“You can’t just snatch somebody walking into a coffee shop because of the color their skin. There’s no probable cause for that and also you will get due process, but it is not happening,” Johnson said, before pivoting to the core of her bizarre defense.
“So what we are seeing now is an overwhelming frustration from American people in this country. The lack of respect and regard for the rule of law by this administration and in particular by that, but his secretary is at a level that we have never seen inviolates all of constitutional norms.”
She continued, linking this supposed overreach directly to violent outbursts: “And I love the principles a legal fairness in this country and you’re seeing that manifest itself threats to law enforcement and bubbling over because people are frustrated and they are channeling that frustration because the administrator the administration is not listening.”
Her words echo the leftist playbook: blame Trump for “violating norms” while excusing the real violators—foreign terrorists slipped through Biden’s sieve-like borders.
The “frustrated” suspect Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who was granted asylum amid the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal, ambushed two guardsmen in Washington, D.C., shooting them in the head—one from West Virginia fatally wounded, the other surviving against the odds.
Authorities pegged it as terrorism, with Lakanwal’s radical ties emerging post-arrest. Yet Democrats like Johnson and Thompson can’t bring themselves to condemn it without qualifiers, preferring to shield the failed policies that imported such dangers.
This isn’t just poor phrasing; it’s a pattern of prioritizing wide open borders over American safety. While Noem pushes Trump-era reforms—halting risky visas, ramping up deportations, and scrubbing dubious approvals—leftists whine about “fairness” for potential threats, all while American families bury their loved ones.
The hypocrisy stings especially hard given the left’s history of demonizing Trump supporters as “threats” during their January 6 obsession. Now, faced with actual terrorism from unvetted migrants, they pivot to victim-blaming the administration fighting to clean up the mess.
Outrage poured in online, with users slamming Johnson’s take as justification for violence. But the real scandal is how these comments reveal the deep-state enablers still lurking in Congress, more concerned with narrative than national security.
Democrats believe violence is an appropriate response to frustration.

I could care less what side of the isle you sit on, these politicians are defending literal terrorists. Peacefully protest all you want, but shooting an NG in the head, is terrorism. https://t.co/dj9Dw6DPO3

There's no reason to think @RepJulieJohnson wouldn't say the same thing about any terrorists. Hamas, Al Qaeda, any of them. https://t.co/fKdUi4ViWW

President Trump’s condemnation of the attack highlighted the survivor’s bravery and blasted the porous borders that enabled it. With his team now reversing Biden’s disasters, expect more squirming from Dems as the truth exposes their role in endangering the homeland.
