President Trump has voiced strong concerns about the ongoing violence against Christians in Nigeria, saying America will not stand for it and “something must be done.”
In another post on the matter on his Truth Social platform, Trump highlighted the severity of the situation, declaring Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” and calling for immediate action.
“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed,” Trump urged.
He added, “Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” and announced “I am hereby making Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN” — But that is the least of it. “
“When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!” Trump continued.
He added, “I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me.”
“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!” The President concluded.

Earlier in the week, Trump stated “The radical Islamic terrorists in Nigeria are systematically killing Christians at an alarming rate—over 7,000 this year alone! This is genocide, pure and simple. The Nigerian government must act, or the world will hold them accountable. We cannot let this continue under our watch.”
The comments come following persistence from Rep. Moore, who has drawn attention to the ongoing atrocities against Christians in Nigeria.
JUST IN: President Trump takes action in defense of Christians in Nigeria who are being persecuted and killed for their faith.

The announcement from Trump comes after @RepRileyMoore persistently brought attention to the atrocities.

Nigeria remains one of the most dangerous countries for Christians, ranking high on lists of nations where faith-based violence is prevalent.
Jihadist groups such as Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), along with armed Fulani militants, have been responsible for targeted attacks on Christian communities, particularly in the northern and Middle Belt regions.
According to Open Doors, an international Christian advocacy organization, violence against Christians continues to escalate, with militants conducting raids on villages, kidnappings, and killings.
Recent reports indicate that Nigeria accounts for nearly 70% of Christian killings worldwide, with over 3,100 Christians murdered in the country last year alone out of a global total of 4,476.
The toll is staggering. Independent monitors, including the International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law, report an average of 30-32 Christians murdered daily in 2025, totaling around 7,000 deaths by late October.
Since 2009, the cumulative figure exceeds 52,000 Christian fatalities, with more than 20,000 churches, schools, and seminaries destroyed.
Kidnappings compound the horror—145 priests abducted in the past decade, including a grisly Ash Wednesday murder of a cleric and the Palm Sunday martyrdom of 54 believers.
In June, up to 200 were slaughtered in the Yelewata community, prompting condemnation from Pope Leo XIV.
Institutional factors exacerbate the crisis. Twelve northern states enforce sharia law, including blasphemy statutes that criminalize perceived insults to Islam, leading to mob violence and arbitrary detentions.
In March 2025, several states mandated the closure of Christian schools for five weeks during Ramadan, defying Nigeria’s secular constitution.
The targeting of Christian symbols and communities is widespread. Millions remain displaced, with rural churches fortifying against nightly raids.
As Trump and U.S. legislators press for action, Nigerian Christians plead for prayers and protection, warning that without intervention, their faith could vanish from the region by 2075.
Will Democrats and their media mouthpieces attack Trump for not wanting Christians to be slaughtered?
Outlets are already trying to claim that this is all fabricated.

It’s not.
Trump designating Nigeria as a CPC during his first term, Biden removed the designation and allow the killing to continue. Thank you, President Trump, for once again trying to stop this slaughter.

MSM will continue to ignore this because they hate Christians, sadly.

Oh geez, Obama created Boko Haram and our CIA has supported these islamists across western Africa for two decades. Maybe if we weren’t trying to steal every other countries resources and made DEALS that are fair to both sides we wouldn’t have this problem. Trumps an idiot if he thinks we don’t know our government has been supporting this crap. And if HE doesn’t know it that’s criminal and his staff need to go.
Where’s the UN? Aren’t they the world’s peacekeeping force?
Ohhhhhh … yeahhhhhhh … the UN ARE the Islamists
Western nations are at the core of the UN corruption. They have controlled every aspect and play god when they dole out aid. They then bribe government heads to play their game or else. Now African nations are saying enough and western nations are pissed because other countries are actually making deals not forcing them to their terms.
Oh God do NOT bring them here…..it is a 3rd world hellhole just like any muslim/african nation.
They don’t care about anything but themselves…..
