The only sane person working at CNN, Scott Jennings, provided another mic drop moment Friday as the pundits around him attempted to downplay Venezuela’s influence on narcotic trafficking to the U.S.
CNN’s Abby Phillip criticised Trump and insisted that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro isn’t all that bad.
“Why is President Trump striking narco-terrorists coming from Venezuela?” Philip asked, referring to the multiple strikes on boats full of drugs carried out by Trump.
The answer is in the question, right?
Jennings responded, “They are a narco-terrorist state. They continue to flood drugs to kill Americans.”
He added, “in Middle America, they think we haven’t gone hard against these people. Trump is gonna have a lot of political support to stop these narco-terrorists.”
The CNN talking head then remarked “It’s not aligned with the facts. Mexico is primarily responsible for the drugs coming into the US. Venezuela is not really a player with fentanyl. Trump should say ‘regime change’ rather than blaming it on drug trafficking.”
Jennings fired back, “Well, how much do you want to accept? You’re downplaying what they do in Venezuela. Also, I would support military strikes on drug operations in Mexico as well!”
“It’s not about drugs. It’s about Maduro,” the clown suggested.
Jennings responded, “They’re one and the same. He is a drug lord.”

Earlier in the day, Trump blasted Maduro after a reporter commented “It has been reported that Maduro offered everything in his country, all the natural resources.”
Trump shot back, “He’s offered everything; you’re right. You’re right. You know why? Because he doesn’t want to f*ck around with the United States.”

Last week, the New York Times reported that the Venezuelan regime “offered the Trump administration a dominant stake in Venezuela’s oil and other mineral wealth in discussions that lasted for months,” citing anonymous “people.”
The Trump administration recently increased an already existing bounty on Maduro to $50 million for information leading to his capture.
There is extensive evidence documenting over a decade of human rights atrocities committed by Maduro, including the mass slaughter of Venezuelan civilians.
However, the Trump administration has primarily opposed Maduro in response to his leadership of drug trafficking operations and his extensive ties to the Tren de Aragua terrorist gang.
The State Department page detailing the $50 million reward notes “Maduro helped manage and ultimately lead the Cartel of the Suns, a Venezuelan drug-trafficking organization comprised of high-ranking Venezuelan officials.”
It continues, “As he gained power in Venezuela, Maduro participated in a corrupt and violent narco-terrorism conspiracy with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.”
“Maduro negotiated multi-ton shipments of FARC-produced cocaine; directed the Cartel of the Suns to provide military-grade weapons to the FARC; coordinated with narcotics traffickers in Honduras and other countries to facilitate large-scale drug trafficking; and solicited assistance from FARC leadership in training an unsanctioned militia group that functioned, in essence, as an armed forces unit for the Cartel of the Suns,” the site further states.
