Following massive local election gains for Reform UK, the populist Party headed by Nigel Farage, the legacy media revealed just how completely out of touch with British people it is.
Here is the headline the Financial Times published.
An unwelcome surge of rightwing populism in Britain https://t.co/Dow38Svpf3
— Financial Times (@FT) May 2, 2025
Yeah, they seemed pretty welcome, given how much they trounced everyone else in democratic elections, winning 677 seats out of around 1,600 being contested.
“Unwelcome at our dinner parties”*

The Conservatives lost a whopping 676 seats, one less than Reform gained, while Labour, the Party that won a general election LAST YEAR, won just 99 seats and lost more than 180.
Monumental. People have had enough. pic.twitter.com/jxpta4GdLj

It’s pretty clear that Reform UK was “welcome” as far as voters were concerned.

Unwelcome? Says who? It's not evil to think that your countrymen should be the first priority of your country.
— XBradTC (@xbradtc) May 2, 2025
Nevertheless, the FT described the monumental victory as a “populist-nationalist bug” adding that Reform found just the right “blend of far-right anti-immigration and anti-net zero stances,” to give “both main parties a drubbing.
Are you sure it’s unwelcome?

The media, like Kier Starmer, can bandy around the pejorative term ‘far right’ all they want, the fact is it’s clear a majority of people in a Britain are now acutely aware that mass uncontrolled and incentivised immigration is degrading quality of life throughout the country.
The mainstream media elites can’t hide their disdain for ordinary people
— Winston Marshall (@MrWinMarshall) May 3, 2025
Instead of trying to understand their concerns they write them off with derogatories like “right-wing populism”.
I have nothing but contempt for them https://t.co/GgfQ0sFpDN
From collapsing metropolises to quiet country villages. No where is exempt from its reach.
Funny isn’t it that when the side the establishment media falls on wins big, it’s championed as ‘the will of the people’ but when the other side wins it’s some sort of ‘unwelcome’ anomaly.
Maybe it has something to do with all the unwelcome immigrants.

"We must destroy democracy in order to save it."
— Nick Uva (@nickuva) May 2, 2025
Unwelcome to far Left busybodies who demand total control.
— Fusilli Spock (@awstar11) May 3, 2025
Yes. https://t.co/kcWG323ISy
There’s a simple fix to this populism ‘bug’.
If you don’t like populism, stop being communists. https://t.co/dMD5MO54W0

Those whacky Brits… One party trounced the other parties. One party won more seats than another party LOST. Yet the U.K.’s lying media says that the “winning party” is more unpopular than ever. Amazing stuff that you can’t make up.
Nope, that headline proves their total connect with real men and real women. Real men and real women (as opposed to keyboard warriors that live in a fantasy, retired people who live in nostalgia, and grumpy people who just want somebody to blame but don’t even begin to understand possible solutions to their problems) want to keep the lights on, which generally requires understanding that an energy transition needs to happen, and that if there are issues with it, it shouldn’t be criticised from a standpoint of an absolute ignorance of how the National Grid works and can work.
They are also aware that many workers in essential jobs (ie, those that didn’t shut down during the pandemic) are in fact from other countries, so attacking immigrants in general is terminally unwise, and if you have strong ideas about immigration policy, that’s fine, but they should be expressed not in terms of attacking the immigrants, but attacking those that would employ those immigrants illegally.
Real men and women are generally based in the real world, not on the hope that politicians can do blah, blah, blah any better than modern AIs (sweet talk has been shockingly over-rated as a useful skill).
They are also aware that the concept of “democracy” isn’t working too well nowadays, so justifying policies that are openly harmful to this country with “they got a lot of votes” is walking on very thin ice. After all, it turned out that Marine Le Pen was a criminal. And in the UK, a crime is, when it gets really down to it (or rather, high enough in the courts) and there are real doubts, what King Charles thinks is a crime… because King Charles is a reasonable person, by definition, up to the point that he dies or abdicates due to health issues. And Nigel Farage has been, for a long time, not only testing the patience of King Charles, but behaving just like a yankee (and by this I mean, like the sort of mad people that emigrated to America back in the day). So he is literally unwelcome. Yankee, go home.
And if anybody says “she who is a naturalized Brit shouldn’t throw stones”, they have no idea. Of course I know people hate migrants on principle. As far as I’m concerned, that’s part of the human DNA. The people in the village of my ancestors still keep track of the fact that my grandfather was from a different nearby village. And by the way, I’m not counting on being able to return there. I have an accent on every language I speak, even my native one.
I don’t hate Farage for hating migrants, that’s him being the usual obnoxious human. I hate him for his utter lack of respect for the Industrial Revolution. If you don’t respect machines to the point of being able to say a lot about the ins and outs of the energy transition, don’t call yourself Brit. Like I said, Yankee, go home.
By their definition, I’m far right. So be it – this ‘insult’ has become so tired that most of us wear it as a badge of honour. Nope, I don’t like illegal immigrants and all immigration should immediately stop while we completely overhaul the system. Anyone here illegally = immediate deportation, no appeals. Blockade the Channel and step up the lorry searches. There are NO genuine refugees fleeing ‘war torn’ France.
At the same time, stop the ‘climate change’ scam, now. It’s bankrupting the country and for what? Even IF CO2 (not carbon) emissions need to be cut (I’ve seen no persuasive evidence), the UK contributes less than 1% of global emissions, so we simply cannot make any difference. There really are idiots who think it is a local problem.
As soon as China stops building coal fired power stations and closes all their existing ones (Ed Miliband, I dare you to tell them), I’ll buy an EV and put solar panels on my roof – not going to happen is it?
I wear my nationalism badge with pride. Every citizen of a sovereign nation seemingly should be proud of and love their own country, unless you’re an American of course. They the entire world’s media is trying to convince us that we’re worthless and we should hate America. Good luck with that.
