Trevor Noah Suggests ‘Integration’ of Black and White People Was a Mistake

Says Finland works because it’s a homogenous society.

During an appearance on a podcast, comedian Trevor Noah suggested that the “integration” of black and white people in America was a mistake.

Noah said he had found himself “wondering” whether or not “integration was the right move,” particularly in the context of schooling, referring to the 1960’s civil rights era and the end of segregation.

The comedian made it clear that he thought the “racism” brought about by segregation was a bad thing and that people shouldn’t have been punished for their skin color in terms of being discriminated against in society.

However, he then pointed out that Finland was a stable, prosperous and high trust society largely because it is overwhelmingly homogenous.

“I think part of the reason Finland is able to do it is because, have you been to Finland? I’ve been to Finland. You know who’s in Finland? Finnish people. That’s it,” said Noah.

“And because they’re all Finnish, there’s an idea of like, no we’re all headed in the same direction, we all know what our actions mean.”

Noah then explained how it is far easier for people of similar ethnicities and cultures to communicate with each other without there being any confusion.

“Already there’s an implicit trust because we already know what certain actions, words and vibes mean,” he said.

Noah then asked Princeton Professor Ruha Benjamin if she thought “integration was the right solution” to the questions raised by the civil rights movement.

Benjamin responded that she didn’t think integration was the right solution and that “segregation and “integration weren’t the only options” because black people were forcefully integrated into a “supremacist culture.”

If a white person had made the same arguments, they’d be cancelled in a heartbeat.

But setting aside that for a moment, is Noah essentially correct?

  1. I started kindergarten in Texas just after the schools were integrated. There were Black, Mexican, and Chinese students in our classes. We all got on beautifully. In the 4th grade, I had an amazing Black female teacher who was so wise and kind that I remember her to this day. The schools had to fulfill racial quotas, and kids were shuttled around to various schools to ensure certain percentages of racial variety in every school. My dear teacher had to tally our races, so she took the opportunity to talk to us about racial integration. We had already been integrated, so we didn’t think it was a big deal to consciously attempt certain ratios. My sisters were in high school at this point, and reported that some very tough Black kids were being bussed into their school from very far away. There were fights the first year, fewer the second, and ended with many solid friendships between the races by the time they graduated. In my perspective the integration was successful. No one from my elementary or high school are racist and we remain connected by social media these days. Admittedly, we were in a large urban are (Houston), where many different races were already working side by side. I suspect the rural schools had a harder time integrating , especially ones that were in all-white areas. My generation and younger didn’t become racist until Obama won the presidency. Then division was sown, I think purposefully. The music industry reinforced it, deceptive media reinforced it, all feeding resentment in a previously upwardly mobile racial group. If you listen to Mike Benz on the Joe Rogan podcast, you find out that the divisions HAVE been recently, purposefully, sown with US taxpayer money funneled through NGOs. Not just in the US, but all over the world, with US taxpayers being completely in the dark about it. … It is sad that our American culture, which was growing so nicely, has been subject to propaganda and is now showing the fruits of that evil seed. I’m grateful it’s being exposed now. May God help us.

  2. Nice to see the racists couch their views as questions.

Its not due all the people being the same color. The finish reality is due the national governments policy of integration and direction NOT reversing or inverting every 4 years. No special interest handouts for select groups. No pretending this group of people deserve more for Whatever reason and that other group should pay for it.

That they focus on Race shows you that they’re stupid and pushing more division while pretending to be exploring why the USA sucks Today… it Sucks today due the DEI/ESG and minority groups First pushes from the FED GOV policies over the last 2 decades. If the FED GOV was about keeping America integrated and functional, their policies would REFLECT that intent.

  3. The truth is Trevor asked the question of the interviewee to draw their point of view into the conversation and then countered it with his own analysis. He did not “suggest” segregation but the opposite if only politely. The headline is misleading.

  4. A racist wondering if ending racism was such a good idea – because he liked it better when everybody was racist like him.
    Huh?

  5. I’m glad he’s asking Black Americans this question. “Mr. Sharpton, are you better off as an American (in this horrible supremacist country) or would you have been better off if repatriated to your respective African country and tribe (that originally sold your ancestors off to begin with) to live in a 100% Black non-supremacist country?” I might add that the door is open and NOBODY is keeping anyone from moving away. I think Liberia is still available and accepting immigrants.

  6. Bring back segregation and allow the USA black people free rein in their area of the USA to prove to the world their ability to create a viable modern culture, society and country.

Okay, knowing the innate limitations of the sub-human African brain, let them create a 2nd-world country. Oh, that’s right. Look at Africa. Okay, let the beasts create a 3rd-world country where violence keeps the herd culled and unless outside food assistance is present the herd within will be starving except for the bands of thugs that prey upon the weak.

The USA had a great opportunity to ship the sub-humans back to Africa in 1865 but they blew it!!! If the folks back then could peer into the future and view the modern Negro they would assuredly have spared no expense in shipping off those heathens!!!

    1. One of the ugliest, most bitterly hateful and cynical comments I’ve ever come across! Realistically, though, it’s hard to disagree.

  7. The problem with Noah’s suggestion is humans are the top of the food chain and abandoned living in tribes (Middle East) before Babylon was the dominant civilization for many good reasons.

Some of it was was geographic. Some of it trade and some of it was to share food, technology and culture. It is the defining feature that separates humans from predator and prey in the animal kingdom that has remained untouched for millennia.

One tribe advances faster than it would normally advance by borrowing ideas and resources from another tribe. Has nothing to do with survival of the fittest. It’s just the way it has always been whether you believe in a higher being or not.

    1. “abandoned living in tribes (Middle East) before Babylon” ??

Arab nomads lived in tribes into the 21st century. Moslems are more loyal to their sect than to the country they live in.

You need to repeat a few grades in school.
