President-elect Trump will remove serving transgender individuals from the military on his first day in office, according to sources quoted in a report by the Times of London.
“The ban is expected to be wider ranging than a similar order made during his first term in office, when Trump prevented transgender people joining the armed forces, but allowed those already serving to keep their jobs,” the report notes.

It adds, “President Biden rescinded the order, but this time even those with decades of service will be removed from their posts, according to several sources.”
Trump will issue an Executive Order outlining the action, the sources say, which would medically discharge an estimated 15,000 active service personnel who identify as transgender.
The order would also impose a ban on trans people joining the military.
In 2018, the Trump administration filed an order in the US District Court in Seattle stating that “persons with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria – including individuals who the policies state may require substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery – are disqualified from military service except under limited circumstances.”
When Biden came into office the order was rescinded.

On the one hand I am glad to hear this. Our enemies will not quake at the sight of a bunch of dumpy man-womans waving little rainbow flags and drawling in a valley girl tone.
On the other hand I wish Trump would stop announcing this stuff ahead of time. It would be so much more epic if he did it out of the blue and without giving them a chance to decide they aren’t transgender anymore. This is almost a two-month heads up.
What steps can be taken to ensure the mentally ill are permanently banned from the military?
