A Morning Consult poll finds that around a third of Biden voters think Donald Trump staged the assassination attempt against himself.
Yes, really.
33 per cent of participants in the survey told the pollster that they believed the attack was staged and was never meant to kill Trump.
Overall, 20 per cent think that the theory the shooting was staged is “credible”.
Rather unbelievably, 38 per cent of respondents blamed Trump for the shooting, claiming he was responsible for the surge of violence in American politics.
In contrast, 29 per cent blamed Biden for his demonizing rhetoric, while 31 per cent blamed Republicans and 25 per cent blamed Democrats.
“The poll suggests that over 1/3 of Democratic voters think Trump is Neo from the Matrix, able to dodge a bullet with his head as the bullet travels 3000 feet per second,” commented Colin Rugg.
The poll results are particularly risible given that the media has for years spun the narrative that Trump supporters are prone to making up ‘fake news’ and engaging in conspiracy theories.
MSNBC’s Joy Reid still can’t seem to accept that Trump almost had his head blown off by a loser nutcase who should have been stopped by authorities well before he was able to fire on the former president.
Reid is still suggesting that Trump may have been hit by “glass” despite the fact that there’s literally a photo of a bullet whizzing past his head.
Meanwhile, in another poll of more consequence, Trump has increased his lead over Biden, who is widely expected to drop out of the presidential race altogether this weekend.
“A survey released Thursday by CBS News found that among likely voters, 52 percent said their choice for president is Trump, while 47 percent said the same about Biden,” reports the Hill.
“Trump’s numbers increased, up from 50 percent in a July 3 survey, while Biden dropped 1 percent.”
26 per cent of respondents said they were more likely to vote for Trump after the assassination attempt against him.
