MSNBC host Joy Reid had a hissy fit over the phrase “White Boy Summer,” claiming that it represented “an explicit white supremacist message” and asserting that it was “no longer funny”.
Reid was triggered by Jack Posobiec appearing at the TPUSA event in Detroit and handing out free ‘White Boy Summer’ caps while a flag was unfurled with the same slogan.
After expressing fury at Donald Trump resonating with black voters during a visit to a black church in Detroit, Reid then turned her attention to what happened during Trump’s visit to the TPUSA conference.
“And what was one of the messages shared by participants at that gathering? Not one I suspect would go over so well at church,” she whined.
Reid then bemoaned how hats that said ‘White Boy Summer’ “were tossed to the screaming cult, I mean audience.”
‘White Boy Summer’ was originally a meme created by Tom Hanks’ son Chet Hanks in 2021, but was quickly re-adapted to become one of the most successful right-wing memes of the last few years.
And that’s made Reid hopping mad as she accused the “thirsty far-right and white supremacists” of proceeding to “culturally appropriate the cultural appropriation for their own purposes” to attract “white youth to their cause.”
Reid then glibly read an ADL definition of the meme to denounce it as a Nazi dog whistle before citing one single anonymous Telegram account to assert there was an agenda to make it more palatable to “normies”.
After claiming Jack Posobiec was a “professional fascism-curious right-wing troll,” Reid asserted how “white boy summer was no longer a funny Chet Hanks meme – it’s an explicit white supremacist message no different than when Trump says immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country” or that cities run by black people are crime-ridden.
As ever, Reid is simply upset that the meme has been so successful in attracting Zoomer support for Trump and the fact that dullard leftists can’t meme.
She also doesn’t get to decide what’s funny, given that White Boy Summer is still hilarious and makes bed wetters like her furious, so keep doing it.
