Joe Biden twice told a completely made up story Wednesday about his uncle/grandfather (we don’t really know which he means) being eaten by cannibals in New Guinea, as a way of attacking Donald Trump.
Biden told the story on the tarmac while headed to Pittsburgh, saying that Ambrose Finnegan, or ‘uncle Bosey’ was in the Army Air Corps and got “shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals” while on reconnaissance.
“They never recovered his body, but the government went back when I went down there, and they checked and found some parts of the plane,” Biden claimed.
He then immediately attacked Trump by repeating the ‘Trump said fallen US service members are suckers and losers’ hoax, again.
When Biden got to Pittsburgh, he told a group of steelworkers, who all looked bored out their grids and like they’d rather be anywhere else, the same gibbering nonsense story.
“He was a hell of an athlete, they tell me, when he was a kid,” Biden said, adding “He flew those single-engine planes as reconnaissance over war zones, and he got shot down in New Guinea. They never found the body because there used to be, there were a lot of cannibals, for real, in that part of New Guinea.”
When this story was actually investigated, it was found to be almost entirely made up.
In reality, Lt. Ambrose Finnegan was a ground crew member and ordinance officer, not a reconnaissance pilot.
In 1944, Finnegan was the passenger of an A-20, a twin-engine, not a single-engine plane.
The plane ran out of fuel, resulting in engine failure and ditched in the Bismarck Sea, it wasn’t shot down and it wasn’t “in an area where there were a lot of cannibals.”
Unless cannibals live in the sea.
Biden also claimed that all his uncles enlisted after D-Day, yet Ambrose Finnegan enlisted three years prior to that and went missing before D-Day even happened.
Imagine the screaming fits leftists would have if Trump made up a story like this, and topped it off with a fake claim that Biden had called dead veterans ‘losers’.
