The New York Times has finally passed comment on the scandal surrounding Google Gemini AI’s erasure of white people…by asserting it’s racist against black people.
Yes, really.
Google’s multimodal large language model program allows users to generate AI images using text command prompts.
Users began to notice that the program almost completely erased white people from history, for example depicting the founding fathers of America as black or vikings as people of color.
The program also refused outright in some cases to generate any images of white people even when people specifically searched for “white families”.
Gemini also refuses to produce images that celebrate the achievements of white people, suggesting it’s racist to do so.
Now the New York Times has waded into the argument, and the real story is apparently racism against black people.
According to the article, that’s the only only “historical inaccuracy” worth being concerned about.
Because the program applied its demented obsession with “diversity” equally, it produced images of black people dressed as Nazis when commanded by the user.
White people being completely airbrushed out of existence isn’t the main concern, the big issue is how a few black people might be offended by seeing artificially generated images of ‘diverse’ Nazis.
As we document in the video below, search prompts are being run through Gemini’s woke purity filter and words such as “diverse” or “black are being added even when the user doesn’t want it.
Gemini Experiences Senior Director of Product Management Jack Krawczyk semi-apologized for the “error,” only acknowledging that the program was “missing the mark here”.
It subsequently emerged that Krawczyk himself is a far-left progressive who is obsessed with “systemic racism,” “white privilege” and even tweeted about crying after he voted for Joe Biden.
