Former General Mark Milley in Bizarre Defense of Israel

“We slaughtered people in massive numbers.”

Retired US General Mark Milley offered a bizarre defense of Israel’s actions in Gaza when he opined that “we” in America also “slaughtered people in massive numbers.”

Milley made the comments during a panel discussion at the Ash Carter Exchange on Innovation and National Security in Washington, DC.

“Before we all get self-righteous about what Israel’s doing, and I feel horrible for the innocent people in Gaza that are dying, we shouldn’t forget that we in the United States killed a lot of innocent people,” said Milley, going on to talk about Iraq and French soldiers dying in Normandy.

“We destroyed 69 Japanese cities, not including Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we slaughtered people in massive numbers – innocent people who had nothing to do with their government,” he added.

“War is a terrible thing, but if it’s gonna have meaning, if it’s gonna have any sense of morality, there has to be a political purpose and it must be achieved rapidly and with the least cost,” said Milley.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp then asserted that “the peace activists are the war activists,” referring to college campus pro-Palestine protesters, who he called “an infection inside our society” and a reason why Hamas will continue to fight.

“They’re out there supporting a terrorist organization whose very written charter calls for death of all Jews, not just in Israel but worldwide, I mean come on now, if you’re gonna support that, you’re on the wrong side,” responded Milley.

The former general’s comments about pro-Palestine protesters are somewhat odd given that he previously defended BLM protesters during the Trump era, despite the fact that they are essentially the same people.

Indeed, there were countless occasions where BLM protesters called for killing white cops and expressed violent hatred towards white people in general, but that didn’t seem to bother Milley.

Following the BLM riots, the former general infamously went on to sympathize with Critical Race Theory in 2021 when he told the House Armed Services Committee, “I want to understand white rage, and I’m white.”

“This pile of crap just a few years ago cried about Donald Trump asking him to help put down the most damaging riots in American history during the Summer of Floyd and waxed poetic about how the rioters we’re “all Americans” no matter “what country [they] came from,” writes Chris Menahan.

“Now he’s getting rich off giving paid speeches like these defending Israel’s indiscriminate slaughter of women and children in Gaza and demonizing the Americans protesting the genocide in Gaza as terrorists!”

  1. Miley is perhaps the worst military leader in American history, well confirming not only the worst aspects of the Peter Principle but the endemic problem in that whoever advanced him were poor judges of character and as superficial as he is. He is the personification of our top military leadership and we are in serious trouble. The military he and his ilk have produced reflect not America but lazy corrupt political correctness. He gives himself away by the fruits of his labors — a military few patriots are willing to join.

Now we can agree with his statement “War is a terrible thing, but if it’s gonna have meaning, if it’s gonna have any sense of morality, there has to be a political purpose and it must be achieved rapidly and with the least cost,” But coming from him the political purpose he would accede to is warped as is his moral understanding which is exposed by the superficiality of other statements mentioned in the report.

Milley’s comparative about the death of “innocent civilians” is biased by its presumptive tone that Israel is as bad as we are and we are as bad as Israel. Neither country (allies by the way) is bad for fighting total war to the extent necessary to stop another political entity engaged in total war against us, an enemy generally supported by its populous.

Good guys achieving peace quickly (supposedly something Milley endorses by his statement) even if through military domination by destroying the infrastructure used to wage war against us, the good guys, because that is what the enemy is trying to do to us, should not be treated so equivocally by a military person supposedly pledged to defending our freedoms and way of life.

Milley is further compromised in all this by his personal politicization, his selectiveness and his outrageous usurpation of civilian authority in violation of the code of conduct of the military as regards unauthorized contact with a regime hostile to our interests — Red China. That the contact was admitted to should have resulted in his immediate removal from the chain of command and court martial. What civilian authority, Democrat or Republican can properly tolerate indeed lionize such irresponsible behavior?

Milley used as an example our nation’s WWII battle against Japan, destroying THAT COUNTRY’S willingness to fight continuing its racist ravaging and murderous domination of Asia without mentioning the millions of actual civilians killed by the Japanese not remotely part of any war machine. And why did he reference Japan when we had to fight with such totality against Germany as well another murderous regime? Curious other than to paint the US as racist perhaps. In all our involvement in WWII , both theaters, the enemy knew death and destruction was coming unless they laid down their arms including the civilians engaged in war production. As for children and truly innocent the parents and willing accomplices are responsible for subjecting them to the dangers and disregarding the warnings.

  2. Milley is a “Child of Israel” and,
therefore not of Speaker of Truth
    nor a Lover of Humans!
