Donald Trump warns that if he doesn’t win the presidency in 2024, America will experience a 1929-style “Great Depression”.
Trump made the remarks during a new interview with Breitbart News.
“I think if I don’t win, we’re going to have a depression like 1929,” said Trump.
“I think the reason the stock market is up is because if you look at the polls, people say I’m going to win. Biden is getting lucky in that regard. I had a phenomenal stock market. Everything was good about our economy. We had no inflation,” he added.
The the S&P 500 ended 2023 with a gain of 24%, with the market climbing for a ninth straight week as inflation cooled.
However, Trump asserted that “rampant inflation” had eaten away at any gains made during the course of the year and that it was only now starting to subside because the wider economy is in big trouble.
“The inflation has calmed down a little bit now, but that’s because the economy is not good. The jobs numbers are fake because millions of people are not looking for jobs,” he said.
“There’s a new narrative; I’m telling you the reason the stock market is up is only because people think I’m going to win the election,” Trump asserted.
Democrats continue to panic behind the scenes about Joe Biden’s dreadful poll numbers, with attempts to remove Trump from the ballot entirely continuing in several states.
