Mayor Eric Adams says New York City is the “greatest” because 9/11 could happen every day.
Yes, really.
Adams made the bizarre comments during an interview with the WPIX-TV news station.
“When you look at the totality of the year, if you had to describe it in one word, what would that word be and tell me why,” Adams was asked by the host.
“New York,” responded Adams, seemingly unaware that that’s two words.
“This is a place where every day you wake up you could experience everything from a plane crashing into our trade center to a person who’s celebrating a new business that’s open,” he said.
“This is a very complicated city and that’s why it’s the greatest city on the globe,” he added.
Sorry, what?
If potentially falling victim to horrific terrorist attacks is one of the ‘greatest’ things about living in a big city, what are the worst?
Elsewhere in the interview, Adams was asked what he needed to improve in 2024, to which he responded, “Probably communications”.
