Donald Trump told Sean Hannity during a town hall event that Democrats are funding Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis in an attempt to sabotage the MAGA movement.
Trump made the remarks in front of a live audience in Iowa.
Trump was asked about Biden suggesting he wouldn’t run for a second term if Trump was somehow not in the race and responded by suggesting Democrats are throwing everything behind stopping him becoming the Republican nominee.
After speculating that Biden had been fed a “talking point” that would sound good, Trump turned to his Republican rivals.
“You know, I just found out that Democrats are funding Nikki Haley’s campaign, I hear that Democrats are contributing to Ron DeSanctis or Ron DeSanctimonious’ campaign,” said Trump.
“That’s the only thing they’re good at – cheating on elections and great talking points,” he added.
The former president emphasized how Democrats are terrified of running against a MAGA movement “the likes of which this country has never seen before.”
Both Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis are miles behind Trump in the polls. Trump is hovering near 60 per cent, while DeSantis is on around 13 per cent and Haley just over 10 per cent.
