Biden Press Secretary Hangs Up On Radio Host When He Asks About ‘Dementia’ And Gas Prices

Sounded like she was going to cry

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was so triggered that she hung up on a radio host Tuesday after he asked two simple questions, one about Biden’s cognitive health and another about gas prices.

North Carolina radio host Mark Garrison of WBT Charlotte said to Jean-Pierre “When I told a number of people that I was talking to you today, it was interesting, though, they all said: ‘Would you please just ask her: Does the president have dementia?’”

“And so before I move on from that, does he?” Garrison then asked.

“Mark, I can’t even believe you’re asking me this question,” Jean-Pierre exclaimed, adding “That is an incredibly offensive question to ask.”

Garrison interjected, “but you know people ask it,” before Jean-Pierre rattled off her usual script about Biden’s historic actions and blah blah blah.

She then proclaimed “I’m not even going to — truly, truly, really — you know, take the premise of your question. I think it is incredibly insulting. And so we can, you know, we can move on to the next question.”

Garrison moved to “Gas prices and grocery prices, then,” noting “Big topics here in North Carolina. How does Mr. Biden win votes when people don’t have as much disposable income?”

Sounding frustrated and exasperated, Jean-Pierre then did her usual blaming Trump schtick and claiming Biden has done incredible things when it comes to the economy.

But she couldn’t get over the dementia question, and promptly ended the interview, sardonically saying “And with that, thank you so much, Mark. Have an amazing, mazing day.”

What’s a “mazing” day?

The White House claims that Jean-Pierre didn’t really hang up and that the loud dial tone at the end was added on by the radio station.

A statement was issued claiming “As she often does when the President travels, Karine had multiple back-to-back interviews with radio stations who were each offered 7 minutes.”

“Once the agreed-upon time was over, she called into the next interview so everyone could get their full time. This particular station chose not to air the full interview and instead artificially attached a sound effect that our phones do not make when calls end,” the statement added.

Sound effect or not, she still sounded like she was going to cry.

  1. “The sound effect that our phones do not make”. It’s not the caller’s dial tone you would hear, it’s the radio station’s. When a caller hangs up, you will either get silence, or indeed, a dial tone. She hung up in rage, simple. Didn’t like and couldn’t answer the questions.
