Democratic strategist James Carville doubled down on his call for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to exit the Democratic Party, slamming her past attacks on white men as a foolish strategy that ignores basic voter math in America.
This latest salvo highlights growing fractures within the Democrats, as even party insiders recognize the toxicity of identity politics that alienates core voting blocs.
Carville’s comments came during Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.,” where he referenced Omar’s controversial 2018 statement: “Our country should be more fearful of white men because they are causing most of the deaths within this country. We should be profiling, monitoring and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men.”
Responding to questions about his 2025 push for Omar to leave the party, Carville stated, “She started attacking white males, and I’m gonna say wait a minute, let’s stop. Alright.’ In 2024, 72% of the people that voted were white. All right? That’s just a fact. Of that, 72, probably 48% or 48 and a half, were male. It’s somewhere around, I did the math, about 33% of the people that are gonna vote are gonna be white males. Well, it’s stupid to attack 33% of the voters.”
He went on to suggest an alternative path for Omar: “And so what I would say to Congresswoman Omar, why don’t you be a Democratic Socialist of America?’ Do what AOC did, and then if they win, the truth of that is, I share a lot of ideological issues in common with Congressman Omar, but maybe you should do like a parliamentary government. We’ll let you in the governing coalition, but not the electoral coalition. But we cannot- we have to get this mentality out that we can win national elections without white people, because you can’t.”
Carville emphasized rejecting broad generalizations: “All white people are not the same. All black people are not the same. All Hispanic people are not the same, all right? And I don’t like generalizing about someone’s gender or their race or their sexual preference or anything else.”
This isn’t the first time Omar’s rhetoric has drawn fire from within her own ranks, underscoring how her extreme positions clash with the practicalities of winning elections in a diverse but majority-white electorate.
Omar’s troubles extend far beyond party infighting. Recent investigations have exposed her husband’s winery as a potential shell for money laundering, with no actual operations or licenses despite reported revenues exploding to $5 million. This scandal, detailed in our previous report, has fueled federal scrutiny into her finances, which ballooned from modest sums to potentially $30 million.
The controversy has also spilled into public feuds, like her recent X clash with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), where Mace called for Omar’s denaturalization and deportation over alleged immigration fraud tied to marrying her brother. Mace didn’t hold back, dismissing Omar’s complaints about U.S. strikes on Iran during Ramadan and pushing for subpoenas on her family records.
These developments align with broader Democratic failures exposed during Trump’s State of the Union, where party members refused to applaud victories like securing the border, slashing crime, and prioritizing American citizens over illegal aliens. Democrats sat stone-faced through celebrations of safer streets, lower inflation, and peace abroad—proving their allegiance lies elsewhere.
Omar’s ongoing scandals and divisive comments embody the radical left’s detachment from mainstream America, where alienating voters based on race or pushing unvetted immigration schemes only erodes trust.
