The Trump administration’s Department of Justice is moving aggressively to lock up the anti-ICE radicals who terrorized Christians during a church service in Minneapolis, including former CNN host Don Lemon, who embedded himself with the mob and now faces serious scrutiny for his role in the disruption.
This crackdown exposes the blatant hypocrisy of left-wing agitators who scream about ‘rights’ while trampling on the freedoms of law-abiding Americans.
The incident unfolded on Sunday when a group of anti-ICE protesters, led by the Racial Justice Network, burst into Cities Church in St. Paul (part of the Minneapolis area), accusing Pastor David Eastwood of ties to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
As reported by the New York Post, Don Lemon was embedded with the agitators beforehand, livestreaming the event and defending their tactics despite later claims of impartiality. Protesters chanted slogans like “Hands up, don’t shoot” and “ICE out,” forcing families and children to flee into freezing 14-degree weather, turning a peaceful worship service into a scene of intimidation and disorder.

Lemon shamelessly defended the mob’s actions and his tagging along as “journalism,” lying about his lack of prior knowledge and insisting the disruption was protected under the First Amendment.
He argued, “The whole point of it is to disrupt and make people uncomfortable,” while casually dismissing the trauma inflicted on churchgoers as just “what protesting is about.” His excuses ring hollow now that federal authorities are closing in.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed that prison time is being pursued for these leftist thugs. “They’d face a jury. If they’re convicted, they will go to PRISON!” Blanche stated, emphasizing the intent to apply the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act as it was originally designed—not as a weapon against pro-life activists, but to halt exactly this kind of assault on religious spaces.

GOOD! Lock them up!

Blanche continued, “The FACE Act has been abused by administrations over the years. But when you look at what happened yesterday, you know why that law was passed, and we’re going to use it for the reasons that it was meant to be used for, which is to stop this type of conduct!”
He blasted the local response, saying, “And again, every single American should be enraged and heartbroken at what happened yesterday in that church. People going to worship, and they are stormed by anti-law enforcement, anti-Christian rioters. And the response that you get from city leaders, today the governor just throws his hands up and says, ‘oh, I’ve always said you should peacefully protest.’ That is just completely made up.”
Blanche pointed the finger squarely at Minnesota’s leadership: “You can listen to what that man has been saying for the past three weeks. He has not been encouraging people to peacefully protest. He’s been encouraging people to do exactly what they did. And what happened yesterday is a consequence of the governor’s words, period.”
Turning specifically to Lemon’s involvement, Blanche shredded the ex-CNN anchor’s defense that his presence was protected journalism. “No, the freedom of the press extends to a lot of different areas. It does NOT extend to somebody just trespassing and being embedded with a group of rioters and being part of the group that storms inside of a church!” he declared.
Blanche added, “So, as our assistant attorney general said yesterday, we are absolutely investigating that conduct. And the fact that that man, that Mr. Lemon, thought that that was a good idea to do that, and then to race away from it, saying it was freedom of the press. Well, we’ll see!”

President Trump weighed in directly, calling for harsh penalties to match those handed to pro-life protesters under the same law. “A small group of elderly ladies were protesting at an abortion clinic and were given 40 years in prison for violating the FACE Act,” Trump posted.
He added, “I would like to see the same kind of sentence for Don Lemon and the people that broke into that church and did that during services.”

This stance aligns perfectly with the administration’s push to end the two-tiered justice system that shields radical leftists while persecuting conservatives. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon has already put Lemon “on notice,” and Attorney General Pam Bondi vowed the full force of federal law against such attacks on Christians and law enforcement.
The contrast couldn’t be starker: while Biden-era DOJ twisted laws to jail grandma prayer warriors outside clinics, Trump’s team is restoring balance by targeting actual disruptors who invade sacred spaces to push open-borders anarchy.
This development sends a clear message—left-wing mobs no longer get a pass for terrorizing Americans in the name of “protest.”
