After a completely random attack in the German city of Dresden, a 37-year-old Tunisian man is now standing trial for physically assaulting an entire family, which included the father, mother, and two children, who were two and seven weeks old. The family is traumatized, and both parents are undergoing therapy after the heinous attack from the man, who has a massive criminal record.

On June 4, 20025, at around 11:30 a.m., in Dresden’s Friedrichstadt, the Tunisian man, Stili M., began raining countless blows on a 37-year-old father before turning to the 38-year-old mother and striking her numerous times. Then, Stili M. knocked the 2-year-old son off her arm and knocked over the stroller, which contained a baby that was only 7 months old, according to Bild newspaper.

The incident began with the father trying to pull the Tunisian man from his wife and children during the brawl. Several witnesses ran to aid the victims and overpowered the Tunisian.

All four victims arrived at the hospital with injuries. The father suffered from a broken nose and had various wounds and hematomas. He was unable to work for six weeks. The mother also had numerous wounds, while the 2-year-old son suffered a skull contusion. The 7-week-old daughter had a hematoma on her temple.

The mother and father are both in therapy with severe psychological trauma, and the son, who is now three, has constant fears of the “bad man.”

The trial also saw numerous pieces of evidence, including a video provided by a witness who filmed the attack, which forms the main piece of evidence in the case.

A police officer who testified about the police operation said, “I was thinking of a terror attack scenario.”

The Tunisian man appeared in court with a belly belt and handcuffs since he is so dangerous. In the psychiatric hospital, the Tunisian man beat up two nurses, illustrating the threat he presents.

Stili M. first entered France after leaving his home country of Tunisia in 2011. He moved between various European countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.

He explained that he eventually chose Germany because “a friend told me that if I enter Germany, I will get accommodation for free.“ He never formally trained for any vocation, either.

The man has an incredible criminal record, including rape, assault, resisting arrest, and insults. He was quickly arrested as he moved around Germany, including in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia.

While in prison, he set fire to a detainment room and used a knife to attack other inmates.

After being released, he was given supervision due to his high “risk of relapse.”

An expert states that the Tunisian man has schizophrenia and megalomania and has communication problems even with the use of an interpreter. All medications he has taken have so far failed to remedy the man’s issues, but he does not drink alcohol or do drugs.

“We don’t know what would have happened if the father hadn’t resisted sufficiently,” said Dr. med. Sebastian Spirling in court.

The judge has now ordered Stili M. to be placed in a closed facility, with the judge stating the man is “a danger to the general public.”
