Venezuelan Exile HAILS Maduro Raid: ‘NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE’ But To Smash Cartel Regime

Former politician Alejandro Peña Esclusa blasts Maduro as head of narco-terror network

As Trump-deranged leftists hyperventilate over the U.S. raid snatching Venezuelan tyrant Nicolás Maduro, a prominent Venezuelan exile and former presidential candidate is cheering the move as the only way to dismantle a drug cartel masquerading as a government.

Alejandro Peña Esclusa, speaking from exile, laid bare the brutal reality of Maduro’s rule, exposing it as a narco-state fueling chaos across the Americas.

Peña Esclusa, a Venezuelan engineer, writer, and political consultant who ran for president in 1988, has been a vocal critic of leftist regimes in Latin America, focusing on threats like the São Paulo Forum.

In a recent GB News interview with host Stephen Dixon, Peña Esclusa was forthright regarding Maduro’s capture.

“We Venezuelans are very happy that Maduro has been captured because he has provoked the most important humanitarian catastrophe in the history of Latin America. He’s a dictator who violates human rights,” he said.

He emphasized the cartel entrenchment, stating: “When Trump says that he’s going to run the transition, well, there is no other alternative, either if we like it or not, because the Cartel of the Suns which is the most important cartel, drug cartel in the Western Hemisphere, is running my country, Venezuela. Nicolás Maduro is just a head of it.”

Peña Esclusa warned that the fight isn’t over: “The whole cartel is still in charge of the regime in Venezuela, and it’s going to be very difficult to defeat them. So we will need, again, either if we like it or not, the help of the United States and its military forces in order to defeat this cartel.”

Watch:

With Maduro now shackled in a New York courtroom facing narco-terrorism charges, Peña Esclusa’s words highlight why actual Venezuelans are relieved, not outraged.

His remarks build on the global Venezuelan celebrations we detailed earlier, as crowds erupted in joy over Trump’s vow to end Maduro’s tyranny.

Maduro, appeared in federal court Monday alongside his wife Cilia Flores, pleading not guilty to drug trafficking charges while claiming he was “kidnapped.” Shackled and in prison garb, the ousted leader heard charges through headphones.

While Trump hinted at possible further strikes, globalists at the UN slammed the operation as a sovereignty breach, with an emergency meeting revealing deep divisions.

Peña Esclusa’s call for U.S. military support underscores the Cartel of the Suns’ grip on Venezuela’s institutions, resources, and territory. This network, embedded in the regime, has turned the country into a hub for cocaine distribution—responsible for around a fifth of the Western Hemisphere’s supply, according to estimates.

Left-wing media and politicians decry the action as “imperialism,” ignoring how Maduro’s alliances with adversaries like Iran and Russia amplified threats to Western security. Their hysteria exposes a blind spot for socialist dictators who export migrants and drugs while crushing their own citizens.

Trump’s administration has framed this as targeted justice, not regime change, enforcing indictments sealed years ago. By capturing the cartel’s figurehead, the U.S. disrupts a key node in the global drug trade that’s killed countless Americans.

As Venezuela edges toward stability under U.S.-guided transition, this raid signals a new era of accountability.
