Trump BURSTS Bubble On Nobel Winner Machado’s Venezuela Takeover; US Will RUN Country

“I think it would be tough for her to be the leader”

President Trump has poured cold water on Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado’s ambitions to seize power in post-Maduro Venezuela, insisting the U.S. will steer the ship until a rock-solid transition ensures freedom triumphs over tyranny.

Trump’s no-nonsense stance underscores the need for real respect and support on the ground, not just international accolades, as the U.S. moves to dismantle the remnants of Maduro’s narco-regime and revive Venezuela’s crippled oil empire.

Trump made his position crystal clear during a press conference following the swift capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a U.S.-led operation that exposed the fragility of the socialist stronghold. “I think it would be tough for her to be the leader,” Trump stated, adding “She doesn’t have the support or the respect within the country. A very nice woman, but she doesn’t have the respect.”

Machado, fresh off her 2025 Nobel win which she dedicated to Trump, issued a statement on X praising the Maduro takedown. “The Hour of Freedom Has Arrived! Nicolás Maduro faces international justice for crimes against Venezuelans and others,” she declared in her post, adding “The US has enforced the law after his refusal to negotiate an exit.”

She continued, emphasizing a return to sovereignty: “Popular and National Sovereignty now govern. We’ll free political prisoners, build an exceptional country, and bring our children home. We’ve fought hard; it’s worth it.” Machado positioned opposition figure Edmundo González as the rightful commander in chief, urging vigilance for a democratic handover.

Trump, however, outlined a bolder vision, announcing the U.S. would “run” Venezuela temporarily to prevent a repeat of the failed socialist experiment. “We are going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition,” he explained.

The approach aims to restore prosperity for Venezuelans, including those who’ve fled to the U.S. and yearn to return. “We want peace, liberty and justice for the great people of Venezuela and that includes many from Venezuela that are now living in the United States and want to go back to their country. It’s their homeland,” Trump added.

Machado had signaled readiness to step up amid the regime’s collapse, declaring “We are ready to take over government. We have the teams, we have the plans – the first 100 hours, the first 100 days,” while crediting Trump’s decisive actions in pushing Venezuela toward freedom after decades of oppression.

Leftist regimes and their allies exposed their true colors in the fallout, with Cuba, Iran, Russia, and China raging against Trump’s liberation of Venezuela from Maduro’s clutches, decrying it as “state terrorism” while ignoring the dictator’s human rights atrocities and rigged elections.

Democrats in D.C. predictably melted down, with figures like Elizabeth Warren and Ruben Gallego accusing Trump of unconstitutional overreach and risking war, conveniently forgetting precedents like the Noriega capture under Bush—proving once again their soft spot for socialist thugs.

Meanwhile, Venezuelans erupted in global joy, from Miami streets to Buenos Aires plazas, waving flags and tearfully thanking Trump for ending Maduro’s reign of terror, with videos capturing raw elation at freedom’s dawn—scenes we showcased in our feature on this worldwide celebration

Trump intends to ensure Venezuela won’t slide back into the abyss, prioritizing stability and prosperity over hasty power grabs, and securing America’s backyard from narco-threats.
