Democrats’ sudden allergy to executive action rings hollow given Biden’s track record. Yet Democrats are now scrambling to undermine these wins. In recent weeks, Senate Judiciary Democrats demanded Noem testify before the committee, accusing the Trump administration of overstepping executive bounds through “alarming practices” like invoking the wartime Alien Enemies Act and deploying the National Guard amid protests against raids.
They claim these moves defy court orders and ignore oversight, all while conveniently forgetting Biden’s own executive overreaches that invited the crisis in the first place.
Adding to the farce, Democrats in Congress are pushing legislation to limit who can serve as temporary immigration judges under Trump, arguing his appointments of “deportation judges” violate due process and bias the system toward enforcement.
This from the party that turned a blind eye as Biden’s policies overwhelmed the immigration courts with backlogs exceeding two million cases.

The hypocrisy peaks with accusations against Trump for deploying troops to quell immigration-related unrest, such as in Los Angeles protests earlier this year. Democrats decried it as an “abuse of power,” yet remained silent when Biden used federal resources to facilitate entries, including lifting razor wire barriers in Texas.
