Democrats and their media allies are STILL pushing the ridiculous “innocent fishermen” hoax to shield cartel operations flooding deadly fentanyl into U.S. communities, but Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt isn’t having it.
In a sizzling hallway confrontation, Schmitt tore into a reporter trying to downplay the high-speed drug-running vessels as mere fishing boats, reminding everyone that these are turbo-charged cartel assets killing thousands of Americans annually.
The reporter asked: “If you can seize a tanker without killing anyone, shouldn’t that be how we handle these fishing boats?”

"If you can seize a tanker without killing anyone, shouldn't the be how we handle these fishing boats?"
SCHMITT: FISHING BOATS?! The drug runners?! Those aren't FISHING BOATS.
"Yeah,… pic.twitter.com/6wxLyjePFb
Schmitt fired back: “FISHING BOATS?! The drug runners?! Those aren’t FISHING BOATS.”
As the reporter interjected with “Yeah, but…”, Schmitt continued: “Those aren’t fishing boats. They are turbo-charged…the Commander-in-Chief has identified terrorist cartels who run drugs that kill a hundred thousand Americans every year. He has the legal authority to blow those boats out of the water! And they will continue.”
The exchange comes amid escalating leftist hysteria over President Trump’s aggressive strikes on narco-vessels in the Caribbean.
His takedown echoes the Trump administration’s unapologetic stance, with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declaring on X: “These narco-terrorists are bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans at home – and they will not succeed. The Department will treat them EXACTLY how we treated Al-Qaeda. We will continue to track them, map them, hunt them, and kill them.”
It is thought that the strikes have now eliminated over 20 boats and 82 narco-terrorists in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, targeting small, fast “go-fast” vessels capable of hauling tons of cocaine.
These operations stem from a classified DOJ memo designating fentanyl as a chemical weapon, enabling kinetic action against cartels responsible for over 200,000 American deaths last year—a crisis exacerbated by the Biden-Harris open-border disaster.
Yet, as we noted before, Democrats like Moulton have labeled the strikes “murder,” warning: “And if it’s happening off the coast of America with people that we don’t know, just give it time before Donald Trump starts doing this same kind of thing to people we do know right here at home.”
Sen. Mark Kelly accused Hegseth of “Going after survivors in the water, that is clearly not lawful.”
Rep. Jim Himes claimed: “You have two individuals in clear distress, without any means of locomotion, with a destroyed vessel, who were killed by the United States.”
Sen. Jacky Rosen escalated: “If the reports are true, Pete Hegseth likely committed a war crime when he gave an illegal order that led to the killing of incapacitated survivors of the U.S. strike in the Caribbean.”
This selective outrage also ignores Obama’s drone program, which killed hundreds of civilians—including American citizens—in Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia without a whisper of “war crime” accusations from the left.
GOP Senate candidate Morgan Murphy previously highlighted this hypocrisy: “For nearly a decade, Democrats lauded President Obama as the ‘Prince of Peace,’ even though his bomb strikes in Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia killed hundreds of civilians. None of those countries were at war with the United States or targeted American civilians. But when President Trump pushes his own effort to stop human smugglers and drug dealers who have done untold harm and killed millions of Americans, they want to place the president and secretary of war on a show trial.”
White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly slammed the narrative: “‘Innocent fisherman’ is the new ‘Maryland Man’ hoax – just like the media tried to paint MS-13 human smuggler Kilmar Abrego Garcia as ‘father of the year,’ they are now running cover for foreign terrorists smuggling deadly narcotics intended to murder Americans.”
She added: “President Trump is using every element of American power to take on the cartels and stop deadly drugs from flooding into our country – just like he promised on the campaign trail.”
Schmitt’s smackdown exposes the media’s role in laundering cartel activities as innocent commerce, prioritizing propaganda over protecting American lives.
As Trump dismantles the narco networks brick by brick, the left’s desperate defenses only underscore their soft-on-crime priorities, ignoring the fentanyl epidemic ravaging families nationwide.

Who goes “fishing” in a boat with 4 100 hp outboard motors on back that can go 65 mph? Cheating, crooked DemocRATs are the biggest liars on the planet.
Until Trump rules out a regime change or full invasion, hes the bad guy in this. Because until that happens cant be certain hes just making excuses to go to war. Also this senator dismissed claims that Trump talked about regime change. Trump definately did.
Government educated retards don’t know what a fishing boat looks like lol.
