The revelation is part of the broader strategy to dismantle sanctuary jurisdictions, building on President Trump’s November 27 executive order freezing all Third World migration and vowing “reverse migration” to purge “public charge” threats.
McLaughlin’s comments signal a zero-tolerance approach, with the White House eyeing NYC’s refusal to cooperate as a test case for national reform.
New York City’s sanctuary status, codified under laws preventing local law enforcement from honoring ICE detainers, has long been a flashpoint, but McLaughlin’s figures amplify the stakes.
