Tucker Carlson turned the tables on Piers Morgan during a recent interview, daring him to exercise free speech in the UK by uttering a controversial word, a move that exposed Britain’s escalating censorship crisis.
Tucker referred to the following incident as an example of how free speech is under attack and everything is backwards in the UK.
a british woman was brutally assaulted.

while in the hospital, she texted her friend to vent and referred to the man who assaulted her as a “faggot.”
her friend reported her to police for homophobia.
she has now been convicted of a hate crime.

The woman was charged with a ‘hate crime’ while the individual who assaulted her was given a slap on the wrist.
Carlson pressed, “Would you say the word faggot on camera?” Prompting Morgan to recoil “No.”
Carlson prodded, “You don’t wanna get arrested, do ya?”

Tucker: Would you say the word faggot on camera?
Morgan: No.
Tucker: You don't wanna get arrested, do ya?…
Morgan: Would you use that word?
Tucker: Faggot? I just did. Faggot, faggot,… pic.twitter.com/GV7zqfOxvx
When Morgan countered, “Would you use that word?” Carlson doubled down, stating “Faggot? I just did. Faggot, faggot, faggot.”
Morgan asked, “Okay, but why?”
Carlson’s retorted “I’m using it because you’re not allowed to.”
Britain’s free speech crisis deepens weekly, with absurd cases like a policeman visiting a cancer patient over an unspecified ‘offensive’ Facebook post, or the arrest of comedian Graham Linehan for posts critical of radical gender ideology.
As we have highlighted, 30 people per day are being arrested for posting “offensive” online content.
Toby Young of the Free Speech Union has described it as “a national scandal” and warned the UK is becoming “the North Korea of the North Sea.”
In addition, Ofcom’s new “Additional Safety Measures” consultation threatens to regulate much of the British internet out of existence, demanding costly reporting systems and identity verification for live broadcasts, admitting it curtails expression but deems it “proportionate” to prevent “harm.”
Podcaster Joe Rogan recently decried the “insane” media silence on UK’s crackdown, calling it a “complete, total attack on one of the most fundamental principles of the Western world.”
He highlighted arrests for liking posts or viewing content, not inciting violence, and warned of 12,000 annual arrests amidst digital ID rollouts.
Amid this collapse, Trump’s administration offers a beacon, recently revealing plans to grant political asylum to British “thought criminals” persecuted under Keir Starmer’s regime.
Influenced by Elon Musk’s highlighting of cases like Livia Tossici-Bolt’s prosecution for a silent abortion clinic sign or Adam Smith Connor’s vigil conviction, Trump is exploring visas for gender critical activists, immigration critics, and even pro-abortion campaigners.
This initiative, following an earlier U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor team visit to London, pressures Britain to reclaim liberty before it’s lost to “radical overreach,” offering a transatlantic shield against authoritarianism.
