Trump’s Ukraine Peace Masterstroke: Kyiv AGREES To Deal

Minor details left – Rubio’s ‘huge progress’ foils Euro saboteurs

In a monumental breakthrough, a Ukrainian delegation has agreed to the core terms of President Trump’s 28-point peace blueprint to end the grinding Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The pact stems from weekend U.S.-Ukraine talks in Geneva, with a U.S. official confirming to ABC News: “The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace deal. There are some minor details to be sorted out but they have agreed to a peace deal.”

Echoing that, another U.S. official told the BBC: There are still “some minor details to be sorted out.”

Kyiv hasn’t officially commented, but Ukraine’s national security chief Rustem Umerov posted: U.S. and Ukrainian delegations have reached “a common understanding on the core terms” of the peace plan.

Trump has stated that he is sending Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow, and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to Ukraine.

“I look forward to hopefully meeting with President Zelenskyy and President Putin soon, but ONLY when the deal to end this War is FINAL or, in its final stages. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter, and let’s all hope that PEACE can be accomplished AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!” Trump posted.

The seismic shift defies Eurocrats’ frantic sabotage bids where leaders like UK PM Keir Starmer and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen schemed to prolong the proxy bloodbath, echoing 2022’s Istanbul peace talks betrayal.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, spearheading the blitz, has been unequivocal on the momentum, declaring after Sunday’s Geneva huddle: “Huge progress made after today’s Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations. President Trump is pleased with how things are moving forward.”

Flanked by Driscoll—who jetted to Abu Dhabi Monday for secret Russian follow-ups—Rubio’s team is bridging gaps on the framework: Ceding territory, capping Kyiv’s military, and ditching NATO bids for sovereignty guarantees and rebuild aid.

This “productive” drive, as Rubio terms it, counters the Euro hawks’ escalation cling—Starmer’s snide “Russia pretends to be serious” and von der Leyen’s “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine”—exposing their preference for endless conflict over Trump’s deal-making win.

Reports have also suggested that U.S. and Ukrainian officials are discussing bringing Zelenskyy to the U.S. as part of President Trump’s push to get an agreement on Ukraine by Thanksgiving weekend, framing it as a high-wire bid to “get the peace deal moving and done.”

Umerov signaled optimism: Kyiv hopes to arrange Zelensky’s visit “at the earliest suitable date in November to complete final steps and make a deal” with Trump.

Could this finally pave the way for an enduring peace? Has Trump’s ultimatum—sign by Thanksgiving or lose U.S. aid—forced Kyiv’s hand?

Leftist outrage has already set in regarding the deal, with Chris Matthews venting fury on “Morning Joe” that Trump’s plan bars American troops from Ukraine’s ground.

Matthews snarled, “This thing smells from the beginning. When people say, ‘Is this Russia’s plan?’ … Who else would have cooked up this plan? 600,000 troops by the Ukrainians — that is a post?Munich decision, after the deal was made that Trump will be in love with.”

He further fumed “After the deal, who’s going to defend Ukraine? And it’s going to be a smaller army against a larger portion of their country taken away already.”

“Does anybody trust Donald Trump to go to war to defend Ukraine after the deal?” Matthew’s proclaimed, adding “Whatever happens, the aggressor Russians who are set on aggression — that’s what they want. That’s Putin’s motive in life. Does anybody think that Donald Trump will put American troops in Ukraine to defend that country, or will lead NATO troops in that country? I don’t see it.”

The Hoover Institution’s Victor Davis Hanson, has forecast Trump’s deal triumph amid grim realities, noting “He was the only one that also talked about the human cost. Almost every week he said this was a human tragedy, that all these people were being killed for no reason.”

“Everybody knew what the parameters of a peace deal were, that Ukraine was never going to be in NATO, and they didn’t have the military wherewithal to get back the Crimea and all of the Donbas,” Hanson added.

He continued, “Ukraine is running out of people, and Russia is running out of money. And so there is going to be a peace deal.”

“How far west does Putin think he has to go before he goes back to the Kremlin and say, I lost a million and a half dead Russians, wounded, missing, and this is what I got. And it’s not very much.” Hanson further urged.

He concluded, “I think this time Trump is going to get a peace deal, and he’s the only person who’s talked about this war in humanitarian terms.”

  1. The only thing missing from this gushingly positive story is the Russian perspective, which given the existential importance for Russia to accomplish its goals in the conflict, renders the Trump/ Zelensky scheme dubious at best.

  2. Chris Matthews and the Dems are War Lovers or idiots. Sending US Troops to Ukraine is a TERRIBLE idea. That is how Vietnam got started. Hey Chris Matthews – go to Ukraine and fight. If you have children, send them. Recruit your friends and co-workers – no one is stopping you.
